In case you haven't noticed, Cisco is now a #security powerhouse. Over the past few years, it has been adding to its core #network strengths by acquiring #observability and #SecOps capabilities that set it apart in the #networking space, and increasingly enable it to offer #cloud-based security services. Adding Splunk gives Cisco yet another tool to complete the transition to a primary #security provider for #enterprises and in embedded solutions like #telco. Further, this increases the capability for Cisco to move to a #subscription #revenues model as it transitions from its previously primarily transactional revenues from selling #hardware components. #Security starts at the network but doesn't end there, so the addition of Splunk and the likelihood of additional acquisitions positions Cisco as an #endpoint to #network #security provider. I expect more acquisitions in the future to increase its capabilities. Cisco Meraki Cisco Security
