Well it's done! I submitted three terms to ASTM International Technical Committee D37 on Cannabis for consideration. Which terms? If you've been following me, you know I've been word-smithing these for a little bit now. Trying to figure out the perfect balance between scientific, technical accuracy, and common usage in industry. And, I finally think we are close. Each term is highly market relevant and serves to fill a gap in knowledge as well as eliminating confusion and nuance. So which terms are we talking? The first is #Solventless coined by Nick Tanem to describe the process for making hash, rosin, and other forms of solventless concentrates and extracts. The second is Total #Cannabinoids designed to give a simple definition allowing for consistent quantification of prevalent cannabinoids across jurisdictions. Finally, and maybe most controversial, is #ConsumerProduct Containing Cannabinoids intended to provide a general classification for those consumer products that contain cannabinoids to distinguish them from consumer products that do not contain cannabinoids. I hoping that these terms make their way through the balloting process and start being utilized more and more by you all in everyday situations. Have a great weekend everyone. Live long and process 🖖🏼
As always Darwin you are the #spock and yes we just hope it will get through the balloting process for approval !
Hi Darwin Millard, in the end what is the text for solventless? I provided you with some tips to improve the definition and I am curious to see the final version. Thx
Nice work family!
Darwin Millard thank you for looking to industry experts for testimony on these topics. Far too many in academia have not respected the rare and unique knowledge these legacy people have accumulated. Nick for one has paid his dues. #NikkaT
Thanks for doing the hard work, Darwin Millard ! Definitions are the starting point...
