According to 2023 data compiled by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Case Western Reserve University ranks No. 27 nationally for the number of U.S. utility patents awarded to a university and its researchers. The annual rankings, released June 4 by the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), highlight universities nationally for their significant role in advancing innovation and invention in the United States. NAI’s Top 100 U.S. Universities Granted U.S. Utility Patents list is created using calendar-year data provided by the USPTO. Breaking: #Technion was recently ranked first in Israel and Europe and 65th in the world for the number of registered patents in the U.S. by the National Academy of Inventors. In 2023 alone, Technion people registered 48 U.S. patents. This marks a rise of three places from 2022. When adjusting for the number of faculty, the Technion ranks 20th globally.
