In the presence of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, Siemens today held the groundbreaking ceremony in Berlin for one of Europe’s most significant urban development projects. Around 35,000 people will live and work at Siemensstadt Square, which will have an area of roughly 188 acres and a floor space of more than a million square meters. The project is a blueprint for the effective design of urban brownfield development projects and industrial transformation worldwide. Digital technologies from the entire Siemens Xcelerator platform – from an end-to-end digital twin to artificial intelligence (AI) – will make the district livable and fit for the future. #Siemens #AI #xceleratorplatform #TechTrends #dptechtrends https://lnkd.in/gmY7a5Ps

#AIWithPurpose : "One of my key takeaways, that was also triggered by your session, was that companies should understand that they cannot go it alone. They cannot develop #AI and all those use cases alone. That means they have to learn to work in ecosystems, which implies the necessity to share the data. And this is obviously a conflict and a mismatch. So I think we have to work on this, and this is also a cultural thing. It's not just a technological issue." Dr. Ralph-Christian Ohr, Founder & Managing Partner at Dual Innovation with one of his takeaways as the Siemens #AIWithPurpose Summit came to a close last week in Munich. This video is part of a series of short takeaways with the likes of Boris Scharinger, Robert Lohmeyer, Anne Mareike Schlinkert, Ian Bramson, Bryan Sacks, Amy Peck, Mia Shah-Dand, Antonio Vieira Santos and more... #DigitalEnterpise: #Sustainability “... a holistic sustainability approach means for us ... we are looking at the people, we are looking at the processes and infrastructure, and we are looking at our products. So the idea is, well-being of our people, attractiveness of our working environment, as well as energy saving along process and time savings ... So, “Do more with less." When it comes to #PowerElectronics ... “What we found out was that if we want to become more competitive, if we want to get our unique selling points, Then we need to integrate the whole value chain. And this is why we reintegrated the power units to the Siemens value chain. We started with #simulation ... we build up digital twins ... we also built up #DigitalTwin's for our clean room ... to optimise processes in the clean room. What we get with that, is we can really reduce the size of our products by up to 50%. We can reduce the weight and the material by up to 40%. And with our digital twins, we are also able to optimise very fast our processes, that means the yield is increasing incredibly in short term ... and we can reduce material demand ... Do more with less." Bringing #HighTech #Manufacturing back to #Germany. "What we learned also in the factory, not only in the clean room, but also along our factory process ... is that we are able to automize, as well as digitalize, also let's say, Small and Medium-sized companies and environment. We have, of course, lines with high quantities, but we have also lines with niche product. And what we see is that a digital twin & AI, in the process makes also sense in this niche product ... and this could be interesting for #SME's." What’s next? “ ... what I'm really keen on now, is the influence of #AI to our processes and to the design of our products. I believe this will be an incredible lever.” While visiting the Siemens Electronics Factory Erlangen, I had the opportunity to have a good long chat with Prof. Dr. Rolf Hellinger, Head of Centre of Competence and Company Core Technology Power Electronics to understand how they are approaching a holistic approach to sustainability when it comes to enabling their Digital Enterprise Strategy. A link to our full 8 minute chat is in a comment below 👇 This video is the 6th and final episode in a "Siemens Digital Enterprise" series I recorded with some of the folks at #Siemens Electronics Factory #Erlangen / Grätewerk Erlangen (GWE), who are bringing the vision of a #Sustainable #DigitalEnterprise to life there.
