We asked Taavi a couple of questions about sales 👇 🌟 Why a sales job at Ventures? The opportunity to work alongside the best in the field, learning sales quickly and at a high level. Being rewarded directly for my work opens doors to limitless possibilities. It's a place to grow, create additional income streams for the future, and be in an environment where everyone shares the common goal of achieving the best and supporting each other towards that goal. 🌟 How would you describe a good salesperson? A good salesperson is honest and ethical. They give their best for each individual, creating an environment where it's very comfortable and easy to make a purchase. They help clients make the best decision and find solutions to get them there. They solve clients' problems. 🌟 Where do you get the motivation to achieve your sales goals? Different moments in life have different motivators. Knowing that if he doesn't reach out to people, no one else might, is a significant motivator, especially in the insurance sector where reaching people too late can be crucial. Improving his own financial situation is also a motivator. Team competitions and rewards within the team also provide motivation. 🌟 If you could offer one piece of advice or recommendation to salespeople, what would it be? Growth Through Referrals? I rarely refer products or services to my friends or family . However, my experience with Ditto Insurance changed that. I was actively looking for an insurance plan for my mother and felt overwhelmed by the multitude of options and the jargon used by salespeople, which only added to the complexity. A friend suggested I check out Ditto, so I reached out to them. Parth Puranik from Ditto called me back for a session, and what followed left me thoroughly impressed. Parth took the time to understand my requirements and pain points before suggesting three plans that met my criteria. When I asked for some time to make a decision, Parth respected my request and didn't spam me with follow-up messages or calls. I reached out to him when I was ready, and I eventually bought a plan Bhanu Harish Gurram amazing job at reinventing the sales process at Ditto This approach was a refreshing change from the typical high-pressure sales tactics common in insurance and other consultative selling products. Outcome: I have since referred Ditto to all my family members, and two of them have already purchased plans. I'm encouraging the others to do the same . I would love to understand how Ditto is performing on the below metrices: Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) Referral Percentage Net Promoter Score (NPS) Lifetime Value to Customer Acquisition Cost Ratio (LTV/CAC) Lessons for Growth: Don't take the status quo for granted. Rethink sales from push to pull by understanding customer needs and presenting options accordingly. My first sales leader told me some sound advice. “When it’s good, take credit… When it’s bad, blame underwriting.” Still living by this today. 😉 Only now I understand underwriting a bit more. I’ve created this post to humble brag that I’ve received a Certificate in Underwriting. Much like a run or bike ride doesn’t count unless documented on Strava… Do career achievements even count, in 2024, unless they’re posted on LinkedIn? On past renewal negotiations my Advisor partners would always tell me: “Eric, I asked for a no change you didn’t need to give me a -10% discount.” Now equipped with a Certificate in Underwriting, I’m fighting back with knowledge. “No 𝚜̶𝚘̶𝚞̶𝚙̶ discount for you!” And if you’ve made it this far in the post, you may as well leave a heartfelt “congrats” in the comments.
