I highly recommend reading this insightful book by @Luigi Fusco Girard and @Antonia Gravagnuolo (Editors): Adaptive Reuse of Cultural Heritage: Circular Business, Financial, and Governance Models While new developments are important, the adaptive reuse of buildings and cultural heritage assets is a vital approach for sustainable growth. In the MENA region, there’s a significant gap in knowledge around adaptive reuse, with many companies still opting for new builds. 'Activating desert worksites with art' – I’ve been experimenting with concepts to transform middle eastern desert work sites by repurposing discarded materials from industries like the oil and gas. Picture this: using old pipes, unfit for industrial use, to build pavilions and structures that are then brought to life with art and projection mapping. For me, art is healing. 4 Things I’ve Found Fascinating About Living in DOHA📍 It's been an incredible 4 months since I moved to Doha, and I’d love to share some unique aspects of life here that I’ve found particularly intriguing: 🥵 Extreme Temperatures: Doha’s climate is something to experience! The summer heat (still on its way in full effect) can be intense, often reaching over 45°C (104°F). However, the city is well-prepared with air-conditioned spaces everywhere. Check out this short video 🌃 Architectural Marvels: The city’s skyline is a blend of futuristic skyscrapers and traditional Islamic architecture of Qatar has been truly inspiring. ✈️ Thriving Business Environment: Doha is rapidly becoming a key player on the global stage. The city’s economic growth and business opportunities are impressive, such as hosting the recent Qatar Economic Forum this past week that I was able to watch on Bloomberg TV 😃 Warm Hospitality: The people in Doha are incredibly welcoming. There’s a genuine warmth and hospitality here that makes adjusting to a new environment much easier. The community spirit is palpable, whether you’re at a local market or a professional networking event. Living in Doha has been a remarkable journey so far, filled with new experiences and learnings.
