Can't, and wont say im happy about this - or that this is a good thing. Change is inevitable but I like the way it is and simple upgrades would be enough - I hope the Wind & Sea and Turks can continue on, Harbor wouldn't be the same without them. And hopefully the local fishing boats/industry will continue as well.

As a local of Laguna Niguel and Dana Point for over 30 years, I am delighted to see progress on the DP Harbor! It’s been discussed for many years and it’s good to see progress and commitment to get the project and development underway ! Let’s face it, the old Harbor Inn Motel has seen better days! As noted on the attached article: The final piece to the planned $550 million overhaul of the Dana Point Harbor is about in place, with the California Coastal Commission giving its OK for the construction of two new hotels in the 53-year-old harbor.

Wow, this is fantastic news for Dana Point Harbor! 🎉 The addition of the Dana House and Surf Lodge by R.D. Olson Development is bound to elevate the local hospitality scene. These new hotels will not only offer modern and inviting accommodations but also inject new energy into the community. It's exciting to see projects that balance development with community benefits. Kudos to everyone involved in making this happen! 🌊🏨 Can't wait to see the positive impact on both tourism and local businesses. Keep up the great work! 🚀

Dana Point is such a quaint community & harbor - I hope this is kept in mind. The harbor and local businesses are well supported by OC locally - I would hate for over tourism ... JMO

I’m quite sure these hotels will be beautifully designed integrating coastal interiors, and heritage art. Hopefully we will soon see, an outdoor music venue, boutiques, cafes, and art shops amid the harbor development, as well at the coastal hotels. Definitely will be a revival for the economy at the historic Dana Point Harbor.

Eagerly anticipated since 2008 when the original development estimate was $48 million and now more realistically estimated to be $600 million. Keep track of the height of the new buildings. The Town Center project on Del Prado and PCH went a bit higher than residents expected.

I love Dana Point. It was in need of some new hotels and so forth. Glad this is happening.
