𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒!! The upward trajectory of the deal market continues, largely thanks to a surge of investment into the tech, life sciences and healthcare spaces. So well-qualified Corporate Associates with transactional experience or an interest in these spaces who are considering testing the market may find themselves in a position to capitalize 𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔. In fact, I just had a chat with a long-time client and top-AmLaw firm that is currently looking to fill unadvertised roles within their Public M&A and Capital Markets groups across their NYC, DC and CA offices as a result of this exciting market activity. This firm balances market compensation (yes, they've matched the latest Cravath scale) with a progressive culture and unique team structure reflective of its innovative roots, and is routinely counted on to advise on the most cutting edge transactions throughout the corporate life-cycle. So if you are a midlevel Corporate Associate who has strong law firm experience and an interest in having your name attached to headlining transactions in the booming tech, life sciences and healthcare spaces, feel free to reach out via direct message or email to 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘭.𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘺@𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴.𝘤𝘰𝘮 for a confidential discussion. #legalmarket #lawjobs

Best of luck to my litigation candidate wrapping up their SECOND interview of the week today!! The firms are different in nature - one is a specialized Chicago-based boutique, while the other is a nationally recognized mid-size firm - but both offer sophisticated work, solid mentorship, and hybrid work schedules. My team and I are working on multiple exciting roles across several legal markets, so if you're curious about new opportunities, reach out and let's discuss! After 8 months of only working litigation jobs, today I'm moving back to corporate in Houston. Why? I'm seeing signs of life in M&A and Finance. Next week, I have candidates interviewing in M&A and Finance at 4 different firms. If you are a Big Law Corporate associate seeking a move in Houston, please message me. I finally have jobs! To be transparent, candidates will need to be perfect. Big Law experience, ideally no prior moves (some exceptions), top law school, top grades and very strong experience from a peer firm. My clients are NOT moving people up in this market. There is no moving from middle market to PE in this market. There are no practice changers accepted. They are not accepting 2023s, 2022s and most won't look at 2021s (a few exceptions). Generally, it's 2017-2020 only. It's a very tight market but if you have the credentials, I'm seeing some movement for perfect candidates. It's a start!

Happy Monday! Or, should I say, Happy Market Insight Monday 🤓 So far this year, the class of 2020 has led the way in lateral associate moves in the Chicago legal market, with the class of 2021 not far behind and 2018 grads rounding out third place. Worth noting is the fact that the number of moves for all three of those class years so far in 2024 has ✨increased✨ over the numbers from this same time period last year. Thinking about making a career move and wondering what this data means for you? Reach out and let's discuss! [email protected] #lawjobs #lawfirmjobs #lateralhiring #amlawjobs #legalrecruiting

Mid career attorney joining an established firm? Don't miss this new guidance from OBLIC: FTA: "A successful firm addition can bring new opportunities, expertise, and clients to a practice. However, it can also entail significant risks, such as malpractice claims, ethical violations, or client dissatisfaction. Due diligence with a thoughtful and client-centered approach will help ensure success."
Looking to grow your team? Don’t miss OBLIC’s article “The Lateral Attorney Equation.” Hiring an experienced, mid-career attorney can bring major benefits to your firm, but it also comes with risks. Read our suggestions for due diligence here: https://ow.ly/jEzl50T9Zx0

Trash-talking your competition is petty and counterproductive. 👎 In the summer of 2014, I was interviewing at big law firms. I had narrowed it down to Latham & Watkins and another big firm in Los Angeles ("Firm X"). At lunch, this is what each firm said: 💬Latham: Firm X is a well-respected firm with high-quality lawyers. 💬Firm X: Latham is bad and you shouldn't go there. They don't care about their people. Let's spend the whole lunch bashing Latham. I declined my offer at Firm X and spent ~3 happy, productive years at Latham. Largely because of these lunches. I'm glad I didn't join Firm X (which has been the source of a few other horror stories from lawyers on the internet). I will never speak poorly about Latham. The LA office was a great place to begin a legal career. I chose correctly.
