#ASAE2024 is less than a month away, and I'm excited to connect with association colleagues in Cleveland for the ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership annual conference!! For those attending, plan to join me at 2:30 local time on Sunday, August 11th for my session: Redefining Collaborative Governance, Together Post-COVID, many associations are wrestling with how to capture the nimbleness of decision-making realized by necessity during the pandemic while maintaining their traditional governance models. Professional societies and trade associations with large, representative boards/houses of delegates are looking for ways to re-engage these groups in the business of the association. At the same time, overall member engagement is waning, and the next generation of professionals is struggling to find their place. Examining how leadership is structured in movements and other nontraditional organizational models may give us new options to consider as we forge ahead to the next frontier in association governance. During the session we'll explore together how ideas from community organizing and collective impact might be used to improve member engagement and participation in association leadership. #associations #strategy #nonprofitleadership #governance
