Specific problems require specific solutions. One of the tasks of the UAV DACH Application Groups is to identify and clearly specify these solutions. Regarding #UAS supported #inspection of power lines and gas pipelines, for example, many interested companies are faced with the problem that this cannot be realized for regulatory reasons – despite already functional technology. In order to prevent a useful application for #drones from remaining blocked, the new Application Group "Line Inspection", with the participation of member companies such as Siemens Energy, Thyssengas and GASCADE Gastransport GmbH, will develop proposals on what needs to be done at European and national level to enable inspections of power lines and gas pipelines with UAS. UAV DACH - Association for Unmanned Aviation is committed to shaping the regulatory framework for the European #drone economy in the interests of its members. Its aim is to support the safe, commercial and sustainable operation of #unmanned #aerial systems. As a strong community, the European association based in Germany organizes networking and information for all relevant stakeholders from business, politics and society.

There are numerous combinations that define a drone, such as: "Unmanned + Aircraft" and "Remote Control + Aircraft", showcasing the versatility of the concept. I opted for the fusion of Flying + Robot, which encompasses many unmanned services, highlights the breadth of drone capabilities. Originally conceived as a decoy solution for diverting enemy systems, the fusion of robotics and aviation was championed by the innovative engineer Abraham Karem. Karem's refusal to settle for conventional thinking propelled him to develop drones with far greater capabilities than the originally envisioned decoy rockets. Drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Certification UL 3030 — Listing for commercial drones UL 3030, the Standard for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, addresses electrical system requirements for commercial UAVs operated by trained pilots. This new Standard covers commercial (e.g., agricultural, scientific, research, film industry or news broadcast video, roof inspections) and tactical (e.g., government, local police, search and rescue). Though different energy sources may power drones, battery technology is a key element in the success of UAVs. As with all battery applications, there are several critical needs, including: ⭕ Assessing and validating battery safety. ⭕ Proving/defining system capabilities in safe mode. ⭕ Evaluating the coordination of the charger, battery system and load as safe. ⭕ Mechanical testing (e.g., impact, drop, vibration, mechanical shock). ⭕ Environmental testing (e.g., thermal cycling, mold stress, water exposure, immersion). Aspects such as airworthiness, the efficacy of controls and similar topics are outside the scope of this Standard, so these issues must be addressed by regulations, user programs and other standards.
