Jonathan Rupprecht (Attorney and Flight Instructor) thanks for posting, its really important for people to understand and abide by FAA regulations. 📜 Key Takeaways: 1. Compliance is Critical: The FAA's enforcement actions demonstrate that non-compliance can lead to significant fines and operational disruptions. 3. Best Practices: Operators should ensure they have the necessary certifications, maintain accurate records, and follow all safety protocols. For more details on the recent enforcement action and how it might impact future drone operations, check out the full article by Rupprecht Law: https://lnkd.in/ecCchen9 #Drones #FAA #Part137 #Compliance #Agriculture #DroneRegulations #SafetyFirst Federal Aviation Administration

Pilots who operate drones that are required to be registered must comply with the Remote ID Rule. In September 2023, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a policy for exercising discretion in determining whether to take enforcement action for drone operators who were not able to comply with the Remote ID rule. That policy ends on March 16, 2024. Operators who do not comply after that date could face fines and suspension or revocation of their drone pilot certificates. Congress directed the FAA to develop standards for remotely identifying operators and owners of drones and issue regulations or guidance based on those standards. Remote ID lays the foundation of the safety and security groundwork needed for more complex drone operations. It acts like a digital license plate and will help the FAA, law enforcement and other federal agencies locate the control station when a drone appears to be flying in an unsafe manner or where it isn’t allowed to fly. #avfoilnews

The American Security Drone Act of 2023 has caused much discussion. People are asking: - I heard there was some Chinese drone ban. Can I keep on flying my drones? - I contract with the federal government. Will my contract force me to stop flying drones? - We have some of these drones. Are there any exceptions to the law? How do we obtain one? By the end of this article, you should have a greater understanding of the problems and solutions. https://lnkd.in/gCTK7uYn

While the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2024 holds promise, especially in advancing Beyond Visual Line of Sight (#BVLOS) drone operations, there's a notable gap in addressing counter-drone technology regulations. As drone-related incidents escalate, the need to fortify public safety agencies against malicious drone activities cannot be overstated. Dedrone CEO, Aaditya (AD) D. shared insights the issue via #TheDroneGirl. Dive into the article for a deeper understanding of the implications and opportunities within counter-drone legislation. #CounterDrone #DroneLegislation #FAA2024

Can flying a drone over a building constitute trespass? Section 76 of the Civil Aviation Act 1982, states that there is no trespass “by reason only of the flight of an aircraft over any property at a height above the ground which, having regard to wind, weather and all the circumstances of the case is reasonable”. But the case discussed in this article from Gatehouse Chambers shows that trespass may occur depending on the purpose of the drone flight - and the question of what constitutes a "reasonable" flying height for a drone is far from resolved. https://lnkd.in/eG97TN8h Drones can be very useful for inspection, planning and project management in construction. But drone operators will need to keep abreast of the law as it develops. Look out for more discussion and litigation once Amazon begins drone delivery and flies over multiple properties with each item. #construction #drones #buildingprojects #aviation

Well to quote an old saying " you can't fix stupid". This is a prime example of how cheap and readily available drones are now impacting the abilities of police and public safety organizations to do their jobs. While you can not fix stupid, you can equip police and public safety organizations with cUAS tools to safely deal with situations like this.
You can legislate and regulate until the cows come home, but can you legislate and regulate against this level of stupidity without impacting the whole drone industry trying to find the lowest common denominator? The recent push by U.S. lawmakers urging the Federal Aviation Administration to prioritize BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) regulations underscores a critical step for advancing UAS technology. The North Dakota UAS Council stands firmly behind this initiative, as implementing Part 108 regulations will empower North Dakota's UAS industry to innovate freely, support logistical advancements, and enhance public safety capabilities. We need swift regulatory action to unlock the full potential of UAS, paving the way for growth and leadership in drone technology. #UAS #BVLOS #Innovation #NDLeadership https://lnkd.in/gznf6g6a
