What has the University of Nevada-Las Vegas been up to so far in 2024? 1. UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law has 14 top 100 programs in U.S. News and World Reports 2024 rankings, again being ranked among the nation’s best in overall and multiple discipline-specific categories, highlighted by top ten rankings in legal writing (2) and dispute resolution (7). 2. UNLV’s status as a top choice for military veteran students is once more maintained, as the university was again named among the nation’s top 10 “Military Friendly” campuses of its size by Viqtory and G.I. Jobs Magazine. UNLV was ranked number three overall in 2024. UNLV Office of Veterans Services 3. Demand for expert commentary from top-of-their-field faculty members like Daniel Bubb and Nancy Rapoport makes UNLV's presence in major media outlets such as The New York Times, NPR, PBS, Reuters, and Kiplinger a daily occurrence. 4. Continued expansion, including the new $73.6 million, three-story, 52,000-square-foot Advanced Engineering Building. Not sold yet? Wait until you see what the UNLV Lee Business School and the Honors College - UNLV (with Lisa Menegatos at the helm) each have in the works. #vegasstrong

In February, my firm is partnering with my friends at the Independent Colleges & Universities of Texas for a four-hour webinar series on the state of college athletics. I'm super excited about this project because: (1) I can't think of an area of law where there have been more rapid-fire developments; (2) we will actually have enough time to make sense of the legal landscape (anti-trust, employment issues, NLRB developments, Title IX, NIL, hazing, federal legislation, etc.) and (3) because I get to do this with my amazingly brilliant friend Shoshanna Engel Lewis. Lagniappe: we also may have a very special guest.... 👀 The goals for the webinar are straightforward: explain where we are, where we are likely heading, and most importantly, to arm institutions with as much information as possible to chart a productive path forward.

Good evening everyone. Aston Law Society have entered ourselves in the annual Aston Students' Union Awards! We strongly believe we should be nominated, and win the following awards: "Most Improved Society", and "Society Event of The Year". As President, I have led my committee to achieve feats that have not been done before, in the history of Aston Law Society and Aston Law School. We have hosted 11 successful academic and social events this year. Our Social Media engagement and following has been at an all time high. We are the first committee of Aston Law Society, to receive sponsorship from award winning international firm, Pinsent Masons, and Pinsent Masons Vario! Don't just take my word for our success, let the numbers and statistics prove it. When we took over, the official Aston Law Society Instagram page had 900 followers. We grew the page to 1300 followers. A massive increase of 400 followers before the academic year has even ended. We have seen an increase in over 50% of the accounts reached this year and we have engaged with +115% more accounts this year. On LinkedIn, we have gained 17,000 impressions in the last 90 days alone. An increase of 279%. In March, on one single day, we received over 1000 impressions. Our Aston Law Society members are at an all time high! We currently have 148 members. This is the most members Aston Law Society has have ever had. For the reasons mentioned prior, I strongly encourage all Aston Law Society and Aston Law School members to vote for us, for "Most Improved Society". The numbers and statistics evidence our success. Without our members, this would not be possible! We need your vote. We are also running for, "Society Event of The Year". I strongly believe this Award should go to us. Just recently, we hosted our "Green ESG Iftar" in collaboration with award winning international law firm, Pinsent Masons and Pinsent Masons Vario. No society has done what Aston Law Society have done. We organised and ran this event, because we recognise the importance of Diversity and Inclusion, especially in the legal sector, where this is an ongoing issue that needs addressing. Coupled with this, this event was a celebration of faith and inclusion, as it was an Iftar open to everyone from all backgrounds, regardless of faith and personal belief! We had 60+ people attend this event, and sold over 50% of tickets within 48 hours of release! The demand was high, and we came through. We need you to vote for us, and let not just the committee's efforts, but YOUR efforts go recognized, as our members contributed significantly to our success this year.
