Happy Day of the Seafarers🧭 At Crossbord , we wish all seafarers good weather conditions today on the International Maritime Organization's Day of the Seafarer, June 25th, 2024! 🚢✨ The International Maritime Organization celebrates the seafarers who navigate our world’s oceans. This year, the focus is on empowering these maritime professionals to improve safety standards and foster a more secure working environment within the industry. We take point of depature in Denmark and its strong maritime tradition. For centuries, Danes have been renowned seafarers, explorers, and traders, and this rich history has fostered a profound respect for the sea and those who sail it. At the same time, we consider psychological safety just as vital as physical safety, especially in high-stakes environments like maritime industries. In such environments it is imperative to create an atmosphere where individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns without fear of retribution. A culture of openness and trust is essential for the mental health of seafarers who often face long periods away from home and the stresses of life at sea. At Crossbord, we deeply value this initiative. Safety is a cornerstone of our mission, extending beyond the physical confines of the sea. For years, we have been supporting organisations and their crews to navigate safely in the complex currents of international tax and compliance, and we are we are committed to continuing this support for many more years to come for both Danes and internationals crossing the borders of Denmark, Danish territorial waters, and the Exclusive Economic Zone. #DayOfTheSeafarer #HappyDayOfTheSeafarer

🌊 Celebrating the International Maritime Organization's Day of the Seafarer! 🌊 Today, we honor the invaluable contributions of seafarers who ensure the #maritime sector remains a safer workplace. This year's campaign highlights seafarers' efforts in enhancing safety within the industry. In line with this theme, Digital Seafarers shares these essential #SafetyTipsAtSea: 1. Never assume there is no risk: Always stay alert to all possible scenarios that may arise while performing tasks on board. Taking safety for granted and being overconfident are imminent risks for accidents. 2. When in doubt, assume the risk: This principle is crucial in maritime safety. If there is any doubt about a situation, assume that a risk exists. Remember, you are not alone in your duties on board; always consult and seek assistance. 3. Never forget the sacrifice: The time spent away from family and loved ones has a single objective—to keep you safe and ensure you return home in one piece. Always prioritize your safety, knowing many are waiting for you back home.⚓ Are you a seafarer? Please share a safety tip at sea!. #SeafarerDay #MaritimeSafety #SeafarerWellbeing #SafetyTipsAtSea #SeafarerSupport #GlobalMaritime #WorkplaceSafety #SustainableShipping

Ship Toilets: A Symbol of Seafarer Suffering Are you living in a toilet? This isn't a joke, it's the harsh reality for many seafarers. New reports show that ships are often filthy, with broken toilets, no hot water, and even bugs and rats. It's like living in a nightmare. Shipping companies are more interested in making money than taking care of their workers. They cut corners on safety and living conditions to boost profits. But seafarers are not slaves. They have rights, and these rights are being ignored. Organizations like the ITF are fighting for seafarers, but they need your help. Know your rights! Learn about organizations like the ITF and Stella Maris. They can help you if you're facing problems on board. Don't be afraid to speak out. Your voice matters. Share this with your shipmates. Let's work together to improve conditions for all seafarers. Together, we can make a difference. Please write to us in: [email protected] Whaspp channel for international mariner update: https://lnkd.in/gDBsJP9F #SHIPTOILET, #ITF, #STELLAMARYS, #SEAFARER, #seaman #shippingindustry #offshore #lifeatsea #merchantmarine #linkedinshipping #sailing #maritimetraining #marineengineer #themaritimestandard #maritimeevent #leadership #logistics #shippingworldwide #transportation #cargo #Innovation #technology #careers #socialmedia #motivation #travel #deeplearning #northsea #atlanticocean #ocean #rough #roughsea #storm #stormy #maritimeawards #galaawards #shippingawards #maritimelife #marineinsight #tmsawards #sea #bnw #workatsea #shiplife #oilandgasindustry #marineengineering #l #humansatsea #ships #shipspotting #yachting #f #vessels #careeropportunities #yachtlife #offshorelife #containership #maritimeworkers #tugboat #sailor #seafarerslife #shipbuilding #seamen

Championing the change. At sea. For Seafarers. A joke that makes the rounds is about how to spot a seafarer during an evening out with friends: he's the one that picks up the tab! One such evening out with fellow seafarers, most of whom were working ashore, except for one or two; true to the joke, the sailing Master picked up the bill. The rest of us instantly picked up our phones to split the expenses and pay online. He didn’t have that option—to receive money online. Initially, I was quite surprised, but then I thought back to my own sailing days. I only used cash and didn’t know there were apps for communication other than the phone dial-pad, which could only call and text. The next instant, I felt pity for all fellow seafarers, battling against the fury of nature in a hostile environment, demanding physical and mental toughness in total isolation, being disconnected from all those worldly things regular humans are accustomed to and take for granted. These are coveted luxuries for these hardy sailors. I found it hard to digest that rather than embrace such comforts while on vacation to compensate for the sailing period, most seafarers do it the other way around: practicing abstinence when on land. I do get it, having spent the better part of my life at sea—to shun luxury so the mind remains conditioned while braving the elements and the lack of any lifestyle. Now, I am convinced more than ever that convenience at sea should be so sorted that it is taken for granted by our sailor friends. Foremost among these facilities is the same kind of connectivity at sea which we are privy to on land. I want to be among the champions of change for seafarers. I am positive that it’s but a matter of time before we all come together and effect this change. I urge all those who can, join this voyage with me. FrontM #seafarers #sea #sailors #maritime

CRY FOR HELP Happy seafarers day celebration to everyone of us that moves the world economy round the globe . It's a day to remember the dedication of the unrecognised men ,the silent achievers. Hmm, but I wish I could also wish the Nigerian seafarers happy celebration, or do I say the Nigerian working with Nigeria license. As usual it's an annual event, and from the attached picture, our dear NIMASA has started to do what they know how to do best. Jamboree celebration, I really doubt If there will be any active seafarer in that gathering, NIMASA will invite captains of industries to celebrate the seafarers day without actually impacting the seafarers live. Dear NIMASA, holding a Nigerian license is the greatest limitation of this noble profession, with Nigeria license in your hand you are automatically defeated in some areas, our licence are not useful beyond the shores of Nigeria, it's even worse to the point that some companies operating here in Nigeria still do not accept Nigeria license, yet our NIMASA celebrate seafarers day. When you think of how active GMA (GHANA) is and how they are Working so hard to make sure Ghanaian seafarers can work anywhere around the world them you will wonder if our NIMASA actually knows their primary objectives as maritime agency in Nigeria, but I expect less of them because it's more of a political appointment than appointment of merit. most of our ogas in that offices knows little or nothing of while they are in those offices. NIMASA it's time to wake up to reality and do what is expected of you, our COC exams here in Nigeria is more rigorous than what you can imagine, yet our certificate is not promising. In the time past Nigerians goes to GMA just to get unlimited and more recognized certificate, but now it's no longer what its uses to be, because Ghana have discovered that our agency is not ready for change so they inflate their prices and make it more difficult for Nigerian to acquire their licence, STCW course in Nigeria is another major problems, what the like of Filipinos,Indians, Pakistani, Ghanaian and others will spend to acquire 6 to 10 certificates is what Nigerian seafarers will pay to acquire just one or two certificates, yet our certificates are not acceptable outside the shores of Nigeria, but those aforementioned brings their own certificate to work here in Nigeria. Our dear NIMASA, seafarers day celebration is not just about organising conference and after party, Nigerian seafarers are crying, people are wailing, get us to the global stage, if you can't follow the likes of UK , SINGAPORE, INDIAN, FILIPINO & PAKISTANI at least learn one of two things from Ghana, make Nigerian license acceptable across the world. get in to some MoU with reasonable countries, Ghana has done it, they are still doing it. When will NIMASA make Nigerian seafarers happy, when will Nigerian seafarers be able to say thank you NIMASA for job well-done. Enough is Enough.

I want to take a moment to appreciate the tireless efforts of Azərbaycan Dəmir Yolları - ADY / Azerbaijan Railways ADY Life railroad workers who brave the cold and challenging conditions to ensure our journeys remain safe and uninterrupted. While most of us find comfort in our warm homes during heavy snowfalls, these dedicated men and women are out there, around the clock, making sure that the tracks are clear, the signals are functioning, and the trains are running smoothly. Their hard work often goes unnoticed, but it's their commitment that keeps the lifeline of our cities and countries moving, no matter how harsh the weather gets. It's not just about shoveling snow or de-icing the tracks; it's about a relentless dedication to safety and efficiency. They embody the spirit of resilience and teamwork, demonstrating that no challenge is too big when we work together. As passengers, we might see a pristine, snowy landscape gliding past our windows, but behind that serene view is a flurry of activity ensuring that we reach our destinations safely and on time. So, here's a big shoutout to all the all railroad workers out there – thank you for your unwavering service. You are the true force that keeps the wheels turning and our journeys safe, no matter what the weather throws at us. 🙏 #ADY #ADYLife #RailroadHeroes #WinterSafety #UnsungHeroes #Transportation #RailwaySafety #Teamwork #Resilience

On this International Day of the Seafarer, I would like to show some appreciation to all those currently sailing around the world. Below is a photo of me I like to wheel out from my first trip many moons ago. I had fantastic ideas of big hats and G+Ts on various bridge wings, alas I was rather naive in my expectations and it turned out to be ruddy hard! I was less than a perfect sailor if I am honest. I absolutely will say however that I had a significantly better time than some people on ships around the world today and I met some great characters. Luckily my time at sea was carried out with good Owners. The regulatory environment and workload for seafarers has changed the role drastically over the past 50 years and I lost count of the older seafarers who told me "it just isn't the same anymore." From what I could tell, the entire job had changed and is now quite a thankless long task. Improvements in conditions worldwide are taking place, however the pace is slow and needs constant guidance. Luckily where I work now we are mindful at considering the seafarers on board, many companies do not. It is finally a well known fact that over 90% of the worlds traded goods travel via ship, so if you do visit a shop today, keep in mind that the items infront of you probably arrived on a ship, crewed by people who are carrying out one of the most unique jobs remaining on this planet and there is a good chance that they have not been home in quite a while. I never did get a big hat.

The Mission to Seafarers Q2 2024 Seafarers Happiness Index has revealed an increase in overall seafarers’ happiness levels. However, the survey has revealed concerns over the emergence of two classes of life at sea for seafarers. It has shown that there is reason to believe there is a ‘digital divide’ for accessing the benefits of modern communications and connectivity at sea, as well as different levels of training and preparedness for new fuels and technology for crew on different types of vessels. By working together with industry leaders, ship owners, managers, and charterers, the Mission aims to find actionable solutions that enhance seafarers’ overall well-being, safety, and quality of life.
