On July 6th, cooperatives worldwide celebrate the 102nd International Day of Cooperatives: Cooperatives Build a Better Future for All! As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, credit unions contribute to economic and social sustainability worldwide. This will help accelerate efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. The SDGs are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of everyone everywhere. The Foundation's work embodies the credit union movement's philosophy, principles and ethos. Credit unions can help to achieve some of the SDGs as they provide much-needed access to affordable and ethical financial services and are at the forefront of helping reduce poverty in rural and urban communities in the countries where we provide support. Thanks to the support of the Irish credit unions, the Foundation is working with local partners to develop credit unions to build financial inclusion and, in turn, help to build a better future for all! #creditunions #cooperatives #financialnclusion #CoopsDay #BetterFutureForAll #BetterWorld

We are excited to share that the @ONgov has extended bridge funding for Ontario’s 8 community Financial Empowerment Champions organizations, enabling them to continue delivering vitally needed financial help services for people with low incomes across Ontario. Financial empowerment goes beyond financial literacy alone —it means hands-on-help when people need it to solve financial challenges and realize their goals. Community financial help providers work one-on-one with people to build their financial capability and skills, helping them make real progress tax filing, navigating and applying for income benefits, or tackling other financial challenges. And when financial help is built into other programs – e.g. primary health care, housing, employment – it improves the financial health of service users as well as service outcomes. So thank you to Minister Michael Parsa and the Ontario government for keeping these vital services open and helping us to help more Ontarians to prosper! #ThankYou #Ontario #CommunitySupport #FinancialHelp #Empowerment

These social orders empower joint effort among individuals from various states, pooling assets for different purposes like banking, credit, agriculture, marketing and handling products. They stick to cooperative standards, underscoring popularity-based administration and impartial appropriation of advantages across provincial limits. #cooperativesociety #multi_state_cooperative_society #creditsociety #marketing_cooperative_society #thrift_and_credit_society #credit_cooperative_society #16april https://lnkd.in/gHtgRQGs
