💭 Here's a question for you, are you allowing room for 'butterfly moments' to take place in your life? First of all, let's define it: I see it as a serendipitous moment that can change the course of everything. Usually when we look back and reflect, we can identify something that happened by 'luck' that led to something incredible. ✨ Here's an example, this photo was taken on the first day I met Hassan Chaudhury. I was at a SomX HealthTech talk and we crashed into each other - by chance. That moment and the subsequent conversations, are etched into Peerr's history and I can't wait to reveal some incredible things happening in the coming weeks / months. So how can we all, and lessons to myself on reflection, increase the probability of incredible butterfly moments occurring? 📣 1. Build your voice. Time and time I've said it. Voice your thoughts and opinions. You can't just sit on the sidelines and just consume. It's an opportunity to shape the world through your lenses. 🗣️2. Talk to people. Share ideas. Connect. Collaborate. Contribute. It's within conversations that 'things' start. 🤝 3. Be present. Here's the tough balancing task, I personally don't consider 'deep' work as attending talks, meets and conferences etc. - BUT - it is a type of work that should be finely selected to be participated in. You being at the conference, meet or talk might spark an idea or connect you with an enabler - be present in spaces so opportunities can collide with you. In the world of digital health, a lot of what passes for “strategy” really isn’t. How can you tell if your startup doesn’t have a strategy? And, how can a well-crafted strategy support you and your team? Common Strategy Pitfalls: - Not defining the right problem - No alignment across the team - Trying to do everything at once When digital health startups lack strategy, you wind up with a lot of mission-driven people working hard, chasing ever-changing goals, getting frustrated and often burning out. What a Good Strategy Does Instead: - Anticipates the big challenges ahead - Tells us what we will and *won’t* do - Speeds and improves decision making - Saves time, money and effort My best strategy test for startups: if I ask 10 employees what problem the company solves, and what steps they’ll take to solve it, I should get the same answer 10 times.   What’s your go-to way to test whether a digital health company has a strong strategy? I’d love to hear!

YOU ARE HIRING TOO MANY SALES PEOPLE TOO SOON! 2. YOU DON’T HAVE A TRUE COMMERCIALIZATION PLAN! JUST BECAUSE YOU DID IT IN ONE REGION, ONE WAY, DOESN’T MEAN IT’S A ONE SIZE FITS ALL! 3. LACK OF FOCUS! Pick a few areas to focus on. Fail and fail fast. If it doesn’t work move on. 4. YOU MUST HAVE TRUE PARTNERS, BETA SITES OR EARLY ADOPTERS. THESE PARTNERS BECOME YOUR EVANGELIST AND GUESS WHAT???? Your doctor in Europe (or non US country) doesn’t have the same impact in the US. 5. IF SOMEONE DID A STUDY FOR YOU AND THEY ARENT USING IT…Shame on YOU! TAKE TIME TO DO IT RIGHT. INVEST RIGHT! SET REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS TO YOUR INVESTORS! Sales cycles for new technology is NOT an overnight thing! Call on my team! Have the hard conversations!
