It's going to be a big week for state government. Wishing our friends at CSG Midwest and CSG South well wishes for their annual convenings! In the coming week, thousands of state leaders will gather to discuss policy innovations and connect over the shared community of their regions. Safe travels to all those attending in Columbus and at The Greenbrier!

The people who want to take away our rights and our democracy wake up every morning and ask themselves what they can do to take over the country. Most of the rest of us wake up wondering what we’ll have for breakfast. We need to have more mornings where we ask, “What can I do to ensure I live in a democracy and help us feel we are one nation?” If you want more ideas and more inspiration for what you can do EVERY DAY to ensure our democracy, join our Community Gatherings Mondays at 5:30 p.m. CT. Voting, getting out the vote, registering voters, running for office are all key. And … we go beyond that. We explore, learn and envision what we can and will do to transform the culture into one that contains, holds, inspires and advances democracy through our daily activities and conversations. Join us to create that more perfect union. The focus of today’s Community Gathering is preparing for the potential of Project 2025 becoming reality. As responsible citizens committed to democracy, it is imperative that we don’t have blinders on and prepare, as we do for all emergencies. Part of the Governor's Central City Task Force focused on the need for greater public-private collaboration. This list is a good start to the many concrete ways in which individuals, community organizations, and employers can be a part of the solutions we want to urgently see - the more entities lean into these opportunities with meaningful resources, the faster and stronger our recovery will be: https://lnkd.in/g4GCURth

2moI'm driving from Ann Arbor to Columbus tomorrow for MLC! Excited to present Sunday morning on criminal justice oversight with CSG Justice Center and their excellent Justice Counts initiative in the Criminal Justice & Public Safety policy committee meeting! Really looking forward to seeing friends from across the Midwest and making new ones. Just don't expect me to buy any OSU gear while I'm in town!
