As we kick off Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, it’s crucial to highlight the importance of creating a #StigmaFree workplace. Mental health should be a top priority for all organizations, and it’s not just about having policies in place—it’s about fostering a culture where employees feel genuinely supported. I’m proud to continue presenting the StigmaFree Workplace initiative to companies, helping to take meaningful steps towards mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Let’s work together to ensure every employee knows they are not alone. Together, we can make a difference. #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthMatters #Leadership #WorkplaceWellness #EndTheStigma
Did you know that NAMI's poll found that only 58% of employees would share about their mental health at work, with 42% of those who wouldn't share citing fear of stigma and judgment as the reason why! With NAMI’s StigmaFree Workplace initiative, our goal is to guide companies towards destigmatizing mental health conversations, fostering a culture of openness and understanding, and ensuring access to mental health support for their employees. This week serves as a reminder to prioritise self-care, seek support when needed, and break down stigmas surrounding mental health. Taking care of our mental health is not just important, it's vital. Every step we take towards understanding and compassion matters. Let's create a culture where it's okay not to be okay, where seeking help is encouraged and where we support one another with empathy and kindness. ❤️ #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #BreakTheStigma #SelfCare
We are proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week with a range of initiatives focused on promoting health and wellbeing. Throughout the week, we'll be sharing valuable resources to our people and opportunities to support everyone's wellbeing. Whether it's reaching out to a friend, family member, or one of our dedicated Mental Health First Aiders or accessing our Employee Assistance Programme for support. This year’s theme is 'Move More for Mental Health,' in sync with this initiative, we’ve recently launched the second edition of the SOCOTEC Olympics, our internal teams can earn points by completing engaging challenges like daily quizzes, weekly photo tasks and exciting missions, both individual and team-based. Our collective goal? Covering an impressive 1,500,000km together! #MoveMoreForMentalHealth #SOCOTECOlympics #OneTeam2024 #MHAW

The NAMI StigmaFree Workplace initiative is incredibly important because it encourages organizations to prioritize mental well-being alongside physical health, leading to increased productivity, job satisfaction, and employee retention. A stigma-free workplace empowers individuals to seek the help they need, improving overall workplace morale and helping to break the cycle of silence around mental health. In today’s world, where mental health challenges are prevalent, it's essential that we continue to champion these efforts to create healthier, more supportive workplaces for everyone. #StigmaFree #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellness #EndTheStigma #InclusiveWorkplaces #SupportMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness

May marks a time for reflection and action as we observe Mental Health Awareness Month. This month I became a mental health ally within my workplace. It reflects my commitment to listening, learning, and leading initiatives that promote open dialogue and provide resources for mental well-being. This article from the World Economic Forum (WEF) addresses how employers can foster an environment of mental health and well-being at work: through culture, wellness resources, leadership training, and, most importantly, measurement. https://lnkd.in/gqvwqvUT

Mixed emotions this week as we reach the end of our amazing programme - Mental Health at Work - due to lack of funding. Really pleased that Mind are managing to keep going the Mental Health at Work Commitment to continue to support employers to change policy and practice and we’ll continue campaigning to encourage government and business to invest in this area. Sadly, we’ll be closing our MHAW website at the end of June, but our best Commitment resources will move to Mind’s website, so employers can still get help navigating this area. But myself and my team will be stepping away from what has been a truly fantastic 5 years. We have achieved huge things and convincingly shown that offering at scale digital support about mental health in workplaces can really support employers to achieve substantial positive and preventative action for their employees. My team has been truly incredible and inspiring, each of them contributing their passion, skills and expertise & never letting go of their vision of ensuring all UK workers can thrive at work, normalising conversations around mental health in workplaces so they can. Sophie Cox Iseult Larkin Beckett Frith Beba Parker and the amazing Andrew Berrie thank you for being fabulous! You can read a beautifully written summary of our work from Beckett - do share with a positive message of what can be achieved when investment is made in this area. Please continue to support Mind with improving workplace mental health. When times are tight, we need more support through partnership working with sectors, business and government. It can make a difference.
It's time to say goodbye 😥 Our Mental Health at Work programme is sadly coming to a close. For the last 5 years we've been championing wellbeing in workplaces of all sizes. We've shared some great stories of people's experiences of mental health at work. Here are a few of our favourite achievements: Developing the Mental Health at Work Commitment (which will continue, so you can still sign up). Championing disadvantaged voices, shining a spotlight on these stories and experiences. Creating our sister website Blue Light Together, which provided specialist support for the emergency services. And that's not all. Take a read:https://lnkd.in/eh8TDCsd

1moA dear friend recently asked me, "How are you, Ted?" I responded with, "Yeah great, thanks". And then she asked, "How are you... Really?" She made me stop and check in with myself. It was a profound moment.
