The Bureau of Land Management is currently seeking public feedback on the future management of 28 million acres of public lands across Alaska, including important hunting and fishing habitat in renowned destinations like Bristol Bay, the Alaska Range, and the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. The lands under review, known as “D-1” lands, were determined to be so valuable to the public that they were excluded from mineral development in the 1970s, making them unavailable for potential privatization. As a result, today they contain some of Alaska's most intact and high-quality habitat. Join us in asking the BLM to maintain existing habitat safeguards that have been in place for decades. https://lnkd.in/g3wBNRvk

In a recent blog, Howling For Wolves founder, Dr. Maureen Hackett, points out that the data does not support the argument that more wolves equal less deer. In the last ten years, 2017 saw the highest deer harvest with 197,778 deer harvested; this same year, was the highest wolf numbers have been estimated in the past ten years (2,856). And while the pendulum of the deer harvest has swung nearly 60,000 deer in the last 10 years, the wolf population has remained relatively flat if not declining by comparison. In fact, the worst deer harvest in this time was in 2014, a year where wolf hunting was legal and saw a significant number of wolf deaths at the hands of humans.

🎯 Hunting: The Ultimate Teacher of Patience 🎯 In today’s fast-paced world, patience is often overlooked as a crucial skill. Yet, one of the most profound teachers of patience is the age-old practice of hunting. Hunting requires waiting in silence, observing nature, and understanding the rhythms of the wild. It teaches us to: 🌲 Observe and Adapt: Success in hunting comes from being attuned to the environment, noticing subtle changes, and adapting strategies accordingly. 🕰️ Value Time: Every moment spent in the wilderness is a lesson in timing and waiting for the right opportunity. 💡 Build Resilience: The challenges faced during a hunt, from unpredictable weather to elusive game, build mental and physical resilience. 🎯 Focus and Precision: Patience hones our ability to focus, ensuring that when the moment comes, we are ready to act with precision. Whether you’re in the boardroom or the backwoods, the patience learned through hunting can lead to greater success in all areas of life. Let’s embrace the lessons nature offers and bring that patience into our daily lives. #Patience #LifeSkills #Nature #Hunting #PersonalGrowth

Brought to you by www.hutchonhunting.com For a late-season elk and mule deer hunting trip in the Colorado Rockies in fall 2024, advantages include: 1. Weather Conditions: Late fall brings colder temperatures, which can lead to increased animal activity as they search for food and prepare for winter. 2. Visibility: With foliage shedding, visibility improves, making it easier to spot and track elk and mule deer in the terrain. 3. Migration Patterns: Late fall often coincides with the animals’ migration patterns, offering opportunities to encounter larger herds. 4. Less Crowded: Late-season hunting tends to have fewer hunters, reducing competition and increasing your chances of a successful hunt. 5. Experience Variety: You may encounter a variety of wildlife, including migratory birds and other species, enhancing the overall outdoor experience. Remember to check and comply with all hunting regulations, obtain necessary permits, and prioritize safety throughout your trip.
