MLex Update: AI Act is published in Official Journal of the EU The European Union has officially published the Artificial Intelligence Act, initiating the legal timelines for its implementation. The Act will enter into force on August 1st, 2023, but the bans on AI applications deemed to pose an unacceptable risk will not take effect until February 2nd, 2025. According to MLex Senior AI Correspondent Luca Bertuzzi, the AI Act remains a work in progress, and challenges need to be addressed.
