On February 24th, 2024, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, knowledge sourcing, and clarity gaining. Initially, several doubts crossed my mind: 1. You can do it later in the year. 2. You will have no weekend to yourself. 3. You can’t turn up with your friends. 4. No extra weekend morning sleep. 5. Will I really get the clarity I seek? Despite these reservations, I decided to do it afraid anyway, and I am extremely glad I did. Attending Orange Academy's “Integrated Brand Experience” (IBX) class was one of the best decisions of my professional journey. Reconnecting and learning from industry leaders who have influenced my career since my internship days till today, such as Yomi Martyns, Lilian Williams, Oyindamola Fakile, Tola Bamigbaiye-Elatuyi PhD, FNIMN, and Kelechi Uduma, was an invaluable experience. Four months later, I am thrilled to reflect on the outcomes: 1. A Strong Network: I built a network of intelligent minds from various facets of life. 2. Brand Creation: I developed two brands—BuzzBite Honey, my personal honey brand, and Beefused Honey, a creative collaboration with the talented Dracarys team. Looking back, I wouldn't have it any other way. The knowledge gained, the connections forged, and the pride of being a member of IBX30 and an Orange mind are priceless. Cheers to new wins and the continued success I plan to unlock as the year unfolds!

Development comes in a variety of shapes and forms. Over the years I have been involved in many types of development: community, economic, youth and now currently donor/foundation development. So, what happens when all these “developments” collide and create the most amazing mash-up of experiences? You get the Nex-Gen Internship Program Leadership Day! As a Nex-Gen Board Member, I had the opportunity to attend this event today. The theme for this year's Leadership Day was "Build Up Your Community," and it couldn't be more relevant. In today's rapidly evolving world, the power of community is more vital than ever. Here are a few key takeaways that resonated with me: 1. Empowerment through Collaboration: Interns explored how working together can lead to innovative solutions and stronger networks. Collaboration not only enhances personal growth but also amplifies collective impact. 2. Inclusive Leadership: True leadership is about lifting others up and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and heard. Building a diverse and inclusive community is essential for sustainable success. 3. Service-Oriented Mindset: They learned about the importance of giving back to our communities. Whether through volunteer work, mentoring, or simply offering support, every act of kindness contributes to a healthier, more connected society. 4. Future-Focused Vision: The discussions emphasized the need to think ahead and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow. By investing in our communities today, we pave the way for a brighter, more resilient future. Question: When you are working on a project in your community, do YOU engage our youth? Do you ask for their opinions? Do you invite them to join in? Do you encourage their help, assistance or expertise? If you aren’t engaging youth, you are missing out on the “secret sauce” of community development! Let's continue to build up our communities and make a positive impact together! *Bonus point: it was great to meet our NCK Tech IT intern, Cece today who is starting her second year in our IT Program on our Beloit Campus this fall!

We aim to address a major challenge faced by today’s ambitious youth—the confusion about where to start upskilling or gaining experience. We solve this by curating the best opportunities, such as internships, fellowships, competitions, olympiads, scholarships, mentorships, and more. Not only that, we also help new-age youth organizations flourish by providing guidance on marketing strategies, spreading the word about their opportunities, and helping them gain engagement.
