🌟 Unscripted Success Stories Across Departments 🌟 I don’t often post here, as our Marketing Department does an excellent job of sharing our achievements. But this past week, something special happened that I feel compelled to share—three heartfelt, unscripted reviews from our customers that truly highlight the dedication and excellence of our support teams across different departments. What makes these stories even more remarkable is that these customers reached out to us on their own—completely unprompted. It’s well known that it takes something truly exceptional for customers to go out of their way to share positive feedback like this. I’ll let their words speak for themselves: 🗨️ Ralph Taylor: “As a sleep apnoea sufferer, I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer at Naas Hospital and later, Jessica, who came to our home to explain everything about the new machine. People are quick to complain, but I believe in saying THANK YOU as well. The staff were nothing short of WONDERFUL, reflecting the quality of training at the company. WELL DONE - KEEP IT UP!” 🗨️ Majella McDonald: “I purchased a toilet riser and commode for my mother today. Yesterday marked my last day as Associate Customer Success Manager at HMH. Endings are always bittersweet, but I am excited for a new adventure. Before I take off on my new path, I think it's important to reflect on where I've been. Here's some things I learned: 1. We don't leave our experiences behind. I was so afraid when I walked away from teaching that my background wouldn't be transferable and I'd be starting all over again. That couldn't have been further from the truth. I used my classroom experiences with communication, collaboration, presentation and organization every day in Customer Success. I just added more skills and am bringing a even bigger toolkit into the next stage of my career. 2. Cultivating relationships is key. I always prided myself on how well I knew my students in the classroom, but kids aren't the only ones who appreciate attentive listening. We all want to know that someone cares and someone is paying attention. By asking questions and giving space to share for my teammates and the customers I served, I not only established trust, but also made my time as an ACSM so much better. Working from home doesn't mean we have to stay in our own bubble. 3. Reflecting, like I'm doing here, is the best way to improve your own experience in the workplace. I think my best ideas came from times when I stepped back and asked myself, "Why am I doing it this way?" or "Is this working for me?" Continuing a pattern just because it's how I've always done something isn't how I want to operate. Whether it's something as simple as using a standing desk for part of my day or something as big as changing my entire method of tracking outreach, relection is the springboard for positive change. 4. I learned I thrive on a little bit of chaos and urgency. While there is no doubt my time in education was much too chaotic at times and created stress, I found the lack of urgency and monotony in daily tasks in this role also fed my anxiety periodically. I like to always be doing something. I actually would get excited when I'd start the day with several tasks in my inbox and was happy to volunteer to throw a presentation together last minute. I think understanding this about myself will help me in future work environments. Thank you to all my colleagues at HMH. I wish you all the best. On to my next adventure!
