The One Night Stand is a great initiative but has previously only delivered a once-off sugar hit to regional economies. The support of Music Australia in building regional capacity to grow creative economies in regional spaces is a welcome move. There are aspirations in regional communities to host live music events and appetite from regional communities to attend music events. Let's find more ways to ensure creative industries can thrive in regional areas, particularly through regional touring circuits, live music venues, and youth arts programs. Side note: I can think of a number of regional areas in South Australia that could support a great visitor experience for a One Night Stand. -- Light Regional Council The Barossa Council Barossa Australia South Australian Tourism Commission Adelaide Plains Council REGIONAL COUNCIL OF GOYDER Regional Development Australia Barossa Gawler Light Adelaide Plains
We're stoked to support the return of One Night Stand - supporting Australian artists and engagement in regional communities! We'll also be using the unique opportunity to invest in local communities and the music industry with the introduction of place-based capacity building and skills development initiatives.

The contemporaries of Luca Pacioli, the Italian Franciscan Friar who introduced double-entry accounting in 1494, must be seething with envy if they learn that double-entry accounting is still modern even during the 21st century while their works are considered Renaissance classical. Even Baroque is more modern than Renaissance and it sounds much better https://lnkd.in/eA9V3YuG.

RESISTANCE IS NOT AN OPTION
A third of a million people pass through Times Square every day - more on busy days (which probably includes this week!). Amazing job by the Fleming Initiative to get this short and compelling message in front of so many eyes. I actually think so many of us stopping to take notice (and photos and videos) has also drawn attention - so if you are in NYC but haven’t yet seen it, go take a look. And please indulge me with the extra touch of pop culture (turn on your audio!)! (Song copyright: whomever owns Jackson Browne’s music)

Partnering with global technology leaders to accelerate organizational and cultural change, team dynamics, leadership development, strategy execution, and executive recruitment
Can following your passions lead to finding purpose? Discovering purpose is often a journey, that builds over time. Aligning your interests, talents and values with meaningful activities and contributions, can help you get there. A personal example, reflecting on my involvement with the Maplewood Glee Club Choir. Singing is a passion, and an activity in which I have a level of skill, but can that lead to purpose? For club leaders who have significant roles within the choir, e.g., arranging and directing music, and managing our scholarship program — all core to the club's mission and vision — purpose is palpable. What about me? I don’t currently have a formal role. My broader vocation is in helping and serving others, whether professionally, academically, or emotionally. However, I’m learning that purpose, like leadership, doesn’t need to have a formal role or title. It can be defined in many ways, and can grow over time. While our choir performances may bring joy to the audience, and ourselves, I've determined that my purpose in the choir is to support fellow members and student choristers, e.g., helping those less experienced during practices, offering tips and encouragement, and creating camaraderie. As I learn more about music theory, or have 1:1 discussions with our growing membership regarding their lives and families, I uncover more purposeful ways to contribute. This informs me that following your passion and talent can lead to purpose, a vocation — and for some — a career. So, friends and colleagues, if you have a passion and talent, keep going! Your energy and desire may lead to opportunities to leverage your skills in a way that brings purpose to you and value to others. What are your experiences of finding your passion and purpose, and how is that related to the work you do? #passion #purpose #personaldevelopment #peopledevelopment Bibliography: https://lnkd.in/eEvyCFhf https://lnkd.in/emUeTCfJ https://lnkd.in/em_jJEAJ https://lnkd.in/e9cdeS6m
