The U.S. Treasury has finalized new anti-money-laundering rules targeting investment advisers and real-estate agents, set to go into effect by 2025. These measures aim to close critical gaps in financial oversight and make it harder for criminals to exploit these sectors. While some industry groups voiced concerns, the regulations represent a significant shift in the fight against illicit finance. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen emphasized that these changes will strengthen protections against money laundering, especially in real estate and investment activities. #AML #FinanceReform #RealEstate #InvestmentAdvisors #FinancialSecurity

Ministry of Finance did a very decent job threading the needle. Global commentators will more than likely lament feverishly on there being absolutely no details of an immediate fiscal response. Yes, there was some detail on local governments and how they can go about supporting the property market. And on that front the expectation is for a significant increase in local bond issuance quota. Where proceeds of the bond issuance will be directed is uncertain. Debt restructuring versus economic supportive policies. Beyond that, however, it was a process of sticking to the script. Attention will now turn to the NPC standing committee which is set to meet nearer the end of this month. Full SCMP story here. https://lnkd.in/gtFHPm-B

In finance and investing, what is a "basis point?" · In the investment world a “basis point” is simply a phrase assigned to a number, and the number is one one-hundredth of a percent (0.01%). · The term is commonly used in describing bond payments, and also by the Federal Reserve in describing the Federal Funds rate. · 50 basis points are therefore ½ of a percent… · And 100 basis points are therefore 1 percent.
