Community Health Partnership ’s Post

Today, we celebrate the vibrant and powerful art form that is drag, From its roots in ancient theater to the dazzling stages of today, drag has a rich history of promoting intersectionality, inclusivity, and artistic freedom. Drag isn't just about fabulous costumes and stunning performances; it challenges norms and creates a community where everyone is welcome. As our staff member, Carter Cadena, an internationally known drag entertainer who performs as Hysteria Brooks (pictured), beautifully puts it: "For me, drag transcends mere performance - it is a political rebellion, a social protest, and above all, a profound means of self-expression." Join us in celebrating the creativity, courage, and resilience of drag performers everywhere. Want to know more about the history and significance of drag?
