Told in Their Own Words, #MWC24 Edition: Broadcast Camera Video over Open API 5G Slices from Ericsson and Sony Broadcasters need mobility to capture the dynamic activity at the Olympics and FIFA events. A Sony broadcast camera combined with the Sony PDT-FP1 Portable Data Transmitter flows 35 Mbps video to the broadcast production center over 5G. Here, Ericsson shows how new open network APIs allow the dynamic assignment of 5G slice performance to a live camera. The combination is essential because spectrum availability is challenging at Olympic or FIFA venues during competitions and ceremonies. The ability to dial in the needed Quality of Service parameters for a single active camera translates to efficient resource use, effective mobile operator monetization, and cost-effective, high-quality broadcast operations. These characteristics demonstrate the power and value of 5G Advanced networks. Thanks to Peter Linder, Ericsson's guru of mega-event communications, for his concise explanation of how Sony innovation and open network APIs driving 5G slicing combine to make a must-deploy solution at the mega-events. A revolution in the making when brodcasters 🎥 can do live productions over mobile networks Broadcasters’ cameras need to be connected to their production centers, using fiber, satellite and more recently over mobile networks. A challenge that get bigger, and cost more, when the production is live, use multiple cameras and you need to be able to move cameras. Ericsson and Sony showcased how the combination of three innovations make a real difference: 1️⃣ A five inch screen, that goes on top of cameras, with integrated 5G 2️⃣ A network slice that can carry a 35Mbps video stream in real-time from the camera 3️⃣ The ability to connect the slice in real-time to the camera that shall be live, with Open APIs No mobile world congress is complete without talking to Ken Rehbehn about how 5G for mission-critical communications and sports and here we explain this innovation in a short video. #5G #LiveBroadcast #ConnectedVenues #NetworkAPI #NetworkSlicing

Did you know that Li-Fi is faster than Wi-Fi? 🚀💡 Li-Fi, which stands for Light Fidelity, is a cutting-edge technology that uses light waves instead of radio waves to transmit data. This means it can achieve faster data transmission speeds compared to traditional Wi-Fi. Imagine streaming your favorite shows and downloading files at lightning speed with Li-Fi! While it's not yet widely available, Li-Fi holds incredible potential for revolutionizing how we connect to the internet. #techtrivia #lifivswifi #speedoflight

I find the technology of CAMARA, especially Quality on Demand (QoD), very interesting. Although there have been discussions about exposing telecom functionalities before, CAMARA's approach to standardizing APIs seems to enable the realization of efficient services, by communicating with their infrastructure. This is also crucial for AI-powered sensor devices that can quickly grasp the situation around the field.
Join our webinar on Tuesday 9th April on how to best utilise 5G and the Cloud in broadcasting and the benefits of the newly released PDT-FP1 Portable Data Transmitter to revolutionise broadcast efficiency. 🚨NEW VIDEO 🚨 In this video I do a deep dive on the MR NET cellular bonding router. It allows for three SIM cards and a VPN connection out to the cloud. MR NET provides a static IP address allowing for port forwarding. This makes the days of using LiveU, TVU, Dejero, and Teradeck archaic! Perfect for SRT or RTMP streaming and broadcast. Video production is also a great use case. 🎥 🔗 in bio to this video! Don't forget to subscribe while you are there! ▶️ #StreamingCT #CellularBonding #MRNET #Livestreaming #GameChanger #Tech #NewVideo
