Independence Day: A Call for Freedom and Justice As we celebrate our nation’s independence today, let’s remember that true freedom goes beyond the boundaries of our country. It’s about the safety, dignity, and justice for every individual, especially those who are vulnerable. Recently, the horrific incident involving a doctor from RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata has shocked us all. This Independence Day, while we honor the sacrifices of those who fought for our nation’s freedom, let’s also stand up for those who are fighting for justice today. The freedom we cherish must extend to ensuring that every person, regardless of their profession, gender, or background, can live and work without fear. As we celebrate, let’s pledge to demand justice for the victims of such heinous acts and work towards a society where safety and respect are the rights of all. Let’s not just celebrate our independence; let’s commit to making our country truly free from violence, injustice, and fear. Justice for RG Kar victim. Justice for all. #IndependenceDay #endviolence #standforjustice #humanrights
Wishing everyone a day filled with pride, joy, and gratitude. Let’s continue to strive for a better, brighter future for all. Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! As we celebrate this summer holiday, let’s pause to reflect on the foundation of what our nation was built upon - that all people have the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, a freedom often overlooked when in the midst of our everyday routine. In honor of our freedom, consider taking a few moments to think of the freedoms we enjoy and the people who have positively impacted your life. This may be the perfect opportunity to jot down what you’re grateful for and express gratitude to those who touched your life in a meaningful way. Writing it down solidifies it in your mind, is easy to do, and is something you can refer back to when you need an extra boost. In terms of expressing gratitude to people, don’t worry about how long it’s been. How would you feel if someone in your past reached out to you, out of the blue and shared how much of a meaningful difference you made in his/her life? More importantly, what closure and potential happiness would it give to you by doing this? Take this opportunity to make these next few days a spectacular celebration and appreciation of all the good in your life! Wishing you a safe and joyful 4th of July! Gilda (Jill-da)

Helping Women of Culture™ and leaders of Women of Culture™ harness their unique perspectives and create a more sustainable organization I Speaker, trainer and facilitator
I'm incredibly grateful for the values my parents have instilled in me. As they navigate their 80s, their actions speak volumes about the kind of world they wish to see – one built on kindness, empathy, and genuine connections. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Every moment spent with them is a cherished opportunity for deep connection. Their unwavering presence reminds me of the fundamental human need to be seen, heard, and valued. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Cultural values shape our family dynamic. From addressing elders with reverence to honoring traditions, their actions reinforce the importance of respecting our heritage. Their lives are testaments to the power of respect, kindness, and genuine connection. And these are the values I strive to carry forward, both personally and professionally. People, who are always trying to take every opportunity from me, people who are making sure that my life is a tragedy whatever I do, people who are making me suffer like it’s a hell on earth, who are you? Why can’t you do the same for successful people like Lex. Lex, I am sorry, I like you very much. I don’t mean anything bad for you. I am just trying to show the people who only wants to make me suffer that there are successful and lucky people who could afford to take a little setback. I am sorry. But I am just trying my best to make them understand…. I am torn into pieces by these hungry people who want to hurt me again and again, to take from me. Why can’t they see other successful and happy people? Or are they out of reach to them? There are so many successful and happy people out there. They could actually afford to take a setback or two. And if you have taken the success or job from someone else, don’t hesitate to give your job to others. We need to build the processes to protect innocent people like me. When someone is fired for another’s selfish reasons, all morals break lose here. It discourages people to even try. And there would be absolutely nothing to take from. Lex, could please cover this in your next podcast about why people are not taking from you or other successful people? Please!! That would be a greatest question to ponder over.
Happy birthday America! To me, it is the greatest nation on Earth ❤ I'm forever grateful for this country, for this life, for all of you for giving a silly immigrant kid like me a chance. I love you all! ❤

Spring has sprung and suddenly we’re in April. What people observances are on the agenda this month? https://bit.ly/3Jiows5 Too often, one of the most common complaints we hear about is keeping up with workplace culture and people management. It present a challenge of navigating education on various demographics of people - consistently - and 'politically correct'. ➡ Here’s the thing: It’s not so much about correctness as it is about effort, respect, and genuine interest. You don’t have to get it right all of the time. In fact, you’re better off expecting not to get ‘it right’ most of the time, but your goal is to want to be better and improve daily. 💭 In my experience, the hardest part of learning is not accessing new information - but getting past the hurdles created by our own egos and comfort in a current way of thinking. I find when you take perfectionism out of the equation and do the inner work to acknowledge shame and embarrassment, approaching information on people different than you are becomes a less heavy lift. No one’s waiting to give you or your organiztaion a final grade for celebrating all of the right observances or having the most fun learning opportunity. The reward is in adapting an expanded perspective and making others feel welcome and seen. I encourage you to keep this in mind as we introduce another set of observances aimed at raising awareness for the unique experiences of individuals with diverse religious beliefs, passions, and abilities, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another. Month-long Observances: 💜 National Arab American Heritage Month 🤝 World Autism Acceptance Month 👥 Diversity Month Weekly Observances: 🫓 Passover 🌙 Laylat al-Qadr, Night of Power (Ramadan ends on April 10th) 🌐 Earth Day Looking for in-depth, personalized interactive resources to bring to your workplace? Check out our Lunch and Learn workshops with incredible advisors at The Rise Journey⤵ See what we’ve got featured this month! https://bit.ly/4aq625a #WorkplaceObservances #DEI #AprilObservances #OrganizationalDevelopment
