When I was growing up working with my dad in the electrical contracting business he hated hiring subcontractors. It was more about the work getting done on our schedule not theirs, and the quality of their work. So we learned to do everything ourselves. Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, hvac, concrete, welding, sheetrock, flooring, painting, trenching, cranes, core drilling, underground wire locating, machining, we pretty much did it all. So I have been the guy on speed dial for a very long time. However, I recently had a contractor change out my water heater because I am getting a bit to old to wrestle those in and out anymore. We had a problem with it right away, the relief valve keeps leaking and filling the pan under the heater which causes them to rust out. I think an expansion tank is needed.
