AI DUSTBIN FOR PLASTIC BOTTLE COLLECTION AT COAL INDIA
As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign, we have installed an AI dustbin at our corporate headquarters in Kolkata. Our Chairman, Shri P. M. Prasad, FDs and CVO observed the operational features of the innovative dustbin.
This advanced dustbin is specifically designed for collecting plastic bottles and features an automated notification system. Once the bin reaches 50% capacity, it will automatically alert our cleaning staff, ensuring timely waste disposal and preventing overflow and maintenance problems.

#BMCCares, in collaboration with Kashtakari Panchayat, has unveiled cutting-edge sorting machines at the Uruli Devachi, Pune’s multi-layered plastic warehouse. This transformative initiative is designed to enhance the working conditions for waste pickers, addressing concerns about efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability.
The newly installed state-of-the-art machines boast conveyor belt and an electric forklift. These technological additions aim to streamline the sorting process, increase overall capacity handling, and elevate recycling levels. Managing over 4-5 tons of plastic, the facility now stands as a testament to BMC's commitment to making a positive impact on the world through technology.
The integration of an electric forklift is a game-changer for waste pickers, enabling them to specialize in sorting and significantly improving their speed and effectiveness in recovering recyclable materials. The initiative also prioritizes the safety and well-being of workers by reducing manual labor, eliminating direct contact with hazardous waste, and creating a more secure working environment.
This marks a significant step towards revolutionizing waste management at the grassroots level in India. The state-of-the-art sorting machines not only improve efficiency and safety but also contribute to BMC Software's broader mission of creating inclusive, sustainable communities worldwide.
