When great Employees quit, what do you remain with? Okay, let's say they have their flaws, did you as the Chief Executive get down to discuss these and try giving positive feedback, just for growth and development for both ends? OR. You're just that kind of employer that enjoys milking the cow not minding whether it's fed or not? #ManagerialTipsandTops. #SuccessfulBusinessBothEnds. #EveryEmployeeCounts.

We sent a survey to every employee at LSC right before Winter Break. Around 2400 people took the time to respond to every question. I distributed the results directly to all employees (and our board) as soon as I got them. Over the Winter Break I received, I think, around 8,000 comments that supplemented, clarified, and expanded on their votes. I spent about four days of my winter break reading each and every comment, one by one, and making notes. Some were hard to read. Others made me laugh. Some made me proud. Others made me feel sad. But I read each of them because I promised I would. All of them were valuable leaps of faith. We also sent every commentator a request to publish their comments to the entire system. Once we get everyone to either opt-in or opt-out, we will publish them. I am personally assigning around 600 actions based on those comments that I think were tangible enough to follow up on to my teammates on the executive team. There is a tracking mechanism for follow-up and closure; we are going to hold each other accountable for closing them out. That's how we are going to build this thing: one piece of honest feedback at a time coupled with real, tangible follow-up action. Listening is cool but doing something about it is cooler.
