Beyond the years of Service We often pat ourselves on the back for sticking around a place for a long time. "Look at me, ten years here!" we boast. But let's be real: it's not just about the number of years you've clocked in. It's about what you've done with that time. Think of your career like a garden. Sure, you can brag about how long you've tended it, but the real beauty lies in the flowers you've grown, the challenges you've overcome, and the lessons you've learned along the way. Those are the things that truly matter. Every day at work is a chance to learn something new. You've probably faced some big challenges, celebrated some huge wins, and worked with all sorts of amazing people. That's the stuff that makes you who you are professionally. So, next time you're thinking about your work anniversary, don't just count the years. Take a moment to appreciate the incredible journey you've been on. And remember, the best way to celebrate is to share your knowledge and experiences with others. You never know who you might inspire. What do you think? To celebrate my first week at TAS, here are the top 7 things I've learnt already 1) Stress isn’t bad unless you don’t ask for help when you need it 2) It's better to make mistakes and get feedback sooner than spend a huge chunk of time doubting yourself and getting feedback way later 3) Communicate about how you’re feeling to your co-workers, not just about work but in general 4) Embarrass yourself! It’s probably not as embarrassing as you think 5) Being tough on people is still an act of kindness (as long as you’re not verbally abusing them!) 6) Taking the time in the morning to show your appreciation for members of your team and highlight any challenges, sets the day off on the right foot (if you’re doing any group projects right now I encourage you to do this) 7) And finally… Don’t drink Stan’s Coke!

One month anniversary at The PAC Group. Some reflections 💭 People work for people. The best thing about the past 30 days is the passion and support I’ve experienced. People cheering you on and wanting to see you succeed is motivating beyond measure. Ask questions, over and over. It helps build base knowledge while you learn the rest. Listen carefully and take a million notes 😅 And finally, don’t look back. Every experience in life is worth having. No matter what breaks us, it makes us all the same. Bring on month two 💪🏼🥳 And for those still searching for the right role. You have to kiss few frogs in life to meet your prince but being clear what you do and don’t want helps. If recruiters ghost you, more fool them, it says much more about the company and their ethics than it ever does about you. Keep focused and go again.

Well done to a big 8 years at Hays Michael Li. I admire the belief you have in what you do. You have taught me what it really means to be a Learner. “I like understanding new things” or “I’m open minded” is miles and miles away from what you are - CliftonStrength #2 Learner. To be a Learner is an insatisable desire and talent to know every nook and cranny of a complex system with no direction but your own volition to acquire knowledge. What most people would take one look at and say “too hard” or “I just need you to tell me what to do”, Learners possess an incredible power to dissect every aspect of the task at hand, understand it, and rebuild it better. You listen to every point that is being said and you’re not fooled by the fluff or “charm” or charisma. You will stand your ground, even if no one else is there to back you. You have my admiration. As we continue to celebrate our 25th Anniversary and the milestones we have achieved, our focus naturally turns to the future. We are filled with excitement as we consider the strengths and opportunities that lie ahead of our staff. Our greatest assets are our employees - a group of talented individuals who have contributed to our success and will continue to play a crucial role in shaping our future. ⁠We connected with Keegan Bunt about how he feels about the future of the firm.  ⁠*What do you see in the future for your professional growth here? ⁠"Endless knowledge. With how the firm is structured I can work on a new type of project almost daily, with that I am constantly learning new things."⁠  *What has been the most valuable lesson you have learned so far? "⁠Work doesn’t have to be something you endure or dread. With the right environment and people it can be the highlight of your day."

When was the last time you took the time to celebrate? I don't mean the end of the project team meal or the lessons learned debrief. I mean really celebrate who you are and who you have become. You are not the person you were 5 years ago, 12 months ago or even 6 weeks ago. You will have learned new skills, developed new perspectives and gained either wider or deeper experience. Rather than rush on to the next thing, busy, busy, busy, take some time to reflect not just on what you have done but who you have become as a result. Doing this allows us to gather evidence of what we are capable of and this evidence provides fuel to the fire of your confidence. I am celebrating three decisions that I have made in the last week about where I choose to direct my time, energy and attention. Why do good things always seem to come in threes? A few years ago, I would have encountered the same situations and reacted very differently. I would have felt it was my responsibility to 'fix' things. I would have thrown myself into the task, even if I didn't necessarily have the time and it wasn't what was best for me. Today, I can appreciate that's not my job. I'm not the same person I was and neither are you! Take some time to appreciate what you have learned and how you have grown.

Christmas means different things to different people. For some, it is just another day, no different from any other day; for others, it is significant, offering a time to connect and reflect. It can be a joyous, celebratory time but also a sad and challenging time for some. Much pressure is placed on Christmas, with many expectations overcoming us and others, which can sometimes take away from the opportunities this period can present. For those taking time off and resting over this period, consider stopping and connecting to how you’re feeling at the end of the year, asking, is this working? We can draw on team coaching skills during this time, whether it is celebrating successes, actively listening to ourselves and those around us, showing leadership in our self-care, establishing goals for the new year, or working through conflict that may arise. It may seem like work, but a little reflection can go a long way in building sustainable and meaningful growth. So, no matter what Christmas means to you, we hope you find space to stop and take stock, appreciating the many aspects of you and your life and consider the things that you can enrich. Although some things might need to go, it’s equally important to confirm all that can and should stay. For many of us today is the first working day after the holidays . Over the weekend we wished family and friends a Happy New Year 🎆 Secretly we probably all hope that the New Year will be good to us and will bring us luck. 🍀 But hoping for luck is maybe exactly what is hindering us from living the life we desire. It usually doesn’t happen and is probably the cause why so many people I know don’t like the New Year’s celebrations. 😖 In Germany we have a saying: “We are all the Blacksmith of our own Happiness”. It is not handed over to us by other people or the Universe. The first questions 🙋🏻♀️ I am asking myself over the weekend are: 🔹What has made me really feel content and happy last year? 🔹What was it, which gave me satisfying lasting happy memories (not fleeting short term ones)? 🔹 What can I actively do to build more of it in to my life? Let’s work on becoming the Blacksmith of our own destiny.
