Many inspiring conversations and meetings the last few days at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2024 in Frankfurt. It is so good to connect in-person with numerous industry colleagues after online interactions. Interesting to see that an increasing number of airports are embracing initiatives at their landside areas for non-travellers, successfully fostering connections with their surroundings and offering a sense of place. Finding the right balance between Global and Local perspectives and needs in airport planning, design, and operation is essential.   As for our conversations, and as the saying goes, the proof is in the pudding… so let's continue this momentum of collaboration and turn our ideas into action! ✈ #digitalisation #innovation #greenbaggage #airportplanning

Delighted to be a part of the GAD WORLD - Global Airport Development Conference 2023 in Barcelona. This year, our panel dove deep into « What does the future hold for the airport business? ». I was lucky to attend the #Airlines2023 FlightGlobal conference on behalf of Symbiotics in Westminster, London, on Monday. Listening to industry leaders from airlines, airports, government, regulators, suppliers, the media and other organisations share their fresh ideas and positive solutions for navigating challenges and shaping the future of the UK's aviation industry was truly eye-opening. One of the key topics that were discussed was the challenges surrounding the commercialisation and scale-up of SAF production, as well as the modernisation of UK airspace. These are crucial areas that require attention and collaboration from all stakeholders in order to drive progress and innovation within the industry. Despite the challenges, there was a palpable sense of optimism in the room, with a shared vision of the UK continuing to be a global leader in aviation. It was truly encouraging to see the industry come together to address current issues and work towards a more sustainable and efficient future for aviation. #Airlines2023 #AviationIndustry #Sustainability #innovation

At International Air Transport Association (IATA) Wings of Change’s conference in Amsterdam, our Chief Aviation Officer Ivan Bassato discussed the challenges and opportunities that the airport sector is facing, with a future-oriented vision. “Cooperation among all the key actors of our industry is an essential element for success; for example, it is essential that ‘delivering agreed capacities’, one of EUROCONTROL's main focus areas, is adequately implemented,” Bassato explained, adding that the competitiveness of the sector also depends on achieving the planned staffing levels in terms of quality and quantity, a challenge that has become increasingly complex for all companies in the industry. “We need to maintain the level of attractiveness of the airport industry high. In this context, innovation plays a significant role: at #Fiumicino airport, we developed an #InnovationHub to use open innovation not solely as a tool to improve services for customers and make air transport more sustainable, but also to become more attractive for young talents and introduce greater automation". #BeyondFlying #RunwaytotheFuture #TheCareport

On 26 Jan, EuroCham's Aerospace & Air Travel Committee Members had a closed-door dialogue with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on "Advancing Hydrogen Deployment in Singapore’s Aviation Sector". It was also the occasion to present the committee members and engagements for 2024, as well as to learn more about CAAS's key priorities, focus and challenges they are trying to address. Three key points to remember: 1) Implementing solutions to address air and ground capacity challenges, with a focus on enhancing overall efficiency 2) Enhancing productivity through the integration of automation and robotics., and 3) Promoting sustainability We also discuss the upcoming Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint to be released at the Singapore Air Show. This closed-door dialogue marks the first engagement for this year with CAAS, and we look forward to more discussions on other topics of interest.
