Creativity is always a mechanism to keep up. At a minimum, Blakeney deserves credit for pursuing a path to ascension instead of waiting for one. His biggest asset may be the proof that sports team/organization ownership is always a winning investment. His biggest problem may be the formation of a players' union (and total return to a prospective owner). Owners don't like unions. Last, Blakeney would have to manage the school's influence vs. the program owner's influence. And the players. And parents. And recruiting. All are already significant challenges for a coach.
