Founder of menopause and more | Menopause and Health Promotion Consultant

Thank you, Veroniek Vermeulen (Silatha), for the opportunity to participate in this webinar. Women in the menopausal transition represent the fastest-growing part of the workforce. Considering that menopausal symptoms can affect women's work performance from their mid 40s or even earlier and the symptoms are often stronger in the peri-menopausal phase of this transition, they will happen whilst women are at work. It is, therefore, essential for employers and the economy to gain a better understanding of menopause, take steps to support women who may require it, and foster a more supportive workplace culture. This shift will not only reduce stigmatisation but also make menopause an unremarkable topic of conversation. It leads to companies retaining experienced and talented employees and an overall more successful company.

In general, 25% of the women in your team are currently experiencing menopause. What can your company do to support them? 1️⃣ Prioritize Leadership Commitment: Elevating diversity, women in leadership roles, and their financial impact is a must. Make it a top agenda item for a thriving business. 2️⃣ Create Awareness and Educate: Equip your entire workforce with essential knowledge about menopause. Understanding and respect are the keys to a more supportive work environment. 3️⃣ Build a Supportive Network and Bring in Experts: Connect women going through menopause for peer support, overcome isolation, and foster a sense of community. Provide expert guidance, mindfulness practices, and stress reduction strategies to enhance well-being during this natural life transition. 4️⃣ Drive Behavior Change: Real culture change happens when everyone is encouraged to embrace new behaviors. Gratitude to Claudia Brett for co-hosting this vital webinar on a topic that deserves our attention and discussion. 🙏 The need to openly address these important issues is paramount. Let's continue these conversations and work together to make a meaningful impact. #inclusiveleadership #menopausematters #empoweryourworkforce #menopauseintheworkplace #empoweringwomen #peertopeersupport #menopauseawareness
