I work very closely with our physicians at Topography Health (and have worked with physicians my entire career at both Flatiron Health and Epic). It's one of my favorite parts of my job. It’s also the best way to stay close to the challenges they face in today’s complex healthcare market. And while it is true that physician burnout is on the rise (for very valid reasons), the majority of doctors that I know don’t want to leave patient care. So, you can imagine how I feel when I see services emerging that help physicians “pivot” their careers away from practicing standard of care medicine and into only industry-sponsored research, as though it is a separate field entirely. Don’t get me wrong—industry-sponsored research is incredibly complex and requires different tools and support, but it does not have to be separate from practicing medicine, and in fact I don't think it should be. Enrolling in a trial is an intimate care decision between patient and provider, and offering trials in your organization as an extension of standard of care can be the next step in your patients’ journey. Additionally, from a business perspective, offering clinical trials inside your organization—whether you go it alone or seek the support of external partners—keeps the patient close to their trusted medical team and prevents unnecessary transitions of care. Thoughts? #clinicaltrials #trials #clinicalresearch

Proud to be among my colleagues in medicine and the C-suite, Linda Komnick, Steven Kalkanis MD, and Charles F. Barbera, MD, MBA, MPH, FACEP, FAAEM. As an oncologist, the foundational relationship that I have with a patient is based on mutual trust, which allows me to deliver care. The power of my voice as the CEO, and the influence both internally and externally, is still predicated on that foundational concept of trust. When I see patients, I ask about more than their symptoms. I want to know about their experience with the valet parking, the cafeteria, their inpatient hospital room. The best way to lead and impact our patients and our health system, is for me to fully understand both sides of the equation. https://lnkd.in/edpSBaAY

Hello and welcome to The Doc Suit! My name is Sharan Jhaveri △🦦🎙️, and I’m currently a resident in Internal Medicine at The Cleveland Clinic, USA 👨⚕️ I have always been fascinated by how much we can learn by changing our vantage point. In some sense, The Doc Suit is simply an extension of this exercise. Business, technology, and research are just some domains that interact closely with medicine but remain relatively unexplored by healthcare providers and those we treat. We are here to change that! . . . #MedicalPodcast #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalResearch #HealthcareProviders #MedStudentLife #MedTech #MedicalEducation #TechInMedicine #TheDocSuit

As a medical specialist, I am reminded every day of the profound impact a fresh set of eyes and a compassionate heart can have on patient care. Each individual who walks through our doors brings with them a unique story, a set of symptoms, and a personal journey towards healing. It is our responsibility, as healthcare providers, to approach every patient scenario with a renewed sense of curiosity, empathy, and openness. When we look at each patient with a fresh set of eyes, we create space for discovery and innovation. No two cases are exactly alike, and by remaining open to new possibilities and alternative perspectives, we can uncover solutions that may have previously gone unnoticed. Every patient encounter is an opportunity to learn, to grow, and to push the boundaries of our understanding. In the fast-paced world of medicine, it can be easy to fall into routine or to rely on past experiences to guide our decisions. However, by consciously choosing to approach each patient scenario with fresh eyes and an empathetic heart, we breathe new life into our practice. We honour the uniqueness of each individual, celebrate the diversity of human experiences, and reaffirm our commitment to providing the best possible care for those who entrust us with their health. Today, I invite my fellow physicians to join me in embracing the power of fresh perspectives and empathy in our practice. Let us commit to seeing each patient as a new opportunity for growth, connection, and healing. By approaching our work with curiosity, compassion, and understanding, we can truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve! #healthcare #health #publichealth #physician #femalephysician #womenphysician #surgeon #compassion #femalesurgeon #patient #patientcare #patientadvocacy #newbrunswick #canada #canadianhealthcare

Consultant - Department of Orthopedic & Sports Injury| Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon | Helping You Move With Confidence | MGM Malar Hospital | SBJ Ortho Clinic
"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." - Ralph Waldo Emerson In the competitive world of healthcare, we often strive for excellence and strive to outperform our peers. However, what truly sets us apart is our ability to connect with patients on a human level. :) Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference are the qualities that define exceptional healthcare providers. These intangible elements, often overlooked in the pursuit of success, are the cornerstone of a truly fulfilling career in medicine. One of my patients recently shared, "Doctor, I heard you wouldn't recommend surgeries or complicated procedures unnecessarily. That's why I wanted to visit you." Experiences like this often remind me of why I chose medicine. It's about more than just achieving results; it's about positively impacting people's lives that drives us. Let's continue to strive for excellence while never forgetting the importance of compassion and empathy in our profession. Cheers to every single one of my colleagues striving every single day! #healthcare #compassion #empathy #humanconnection #growthmindset #medicalprofession

Precision Medicine Physician Genetics, Metabolism, & Biochemistry Optimizer | Emergency Medicine & Internal Medicine Physician @ Wild Health | Chief Medical Officer @ Buoyant Physician @ Lifeforce
With the growing number of precision medicine/DNA-based medicine companies in the US, it might seem challenging to pick the one that is best for you. Although there are some similarities among the few entities that are out there, I am here to tell you the things that I think set Wild Health apart from the others. These are the truly special things about this precision medicine practice... -A CEO, Chief Science Officer, Chief Education Officer, and leadership team that care very deeply about delivering cutting-edge, high-quality, personalized care -A Medical Director who pours their heart and soul into leading physicians and overseeing the quality of care that patients deserve -A true vision to make YOU the best version of yourself -The BEST team of health coaches in the health and wellness space -Physicians who are dedicated to individualizing and providing patients with high-quality health care, wellness, and longevity -A clinical care team who focuses on making the patient journey seamless -An infrastructure of care coordinators, virtual assistants, education program directors who care about the patient journey 👉🏻Keep in mind that many health and wellness organizations DO NOT do DNA testing or offer DNA-based precision medicine. They might offer extensive bloodwork, but they do not offer individualized, personal, DNA-based health and wellness care. Wild Health is, simply put, AMAZING. Super proud to be a member of the team. #WildHealth #DNA #PrecisionMedicine #Health #Wellness #Longevity #Healthspan Wildhealth.com

Embracing Uncertainty as a Primary Care Physician: ‘A Necessity, Not an Obstacle’ As primary care physicians, we stand at the forefront of patient care, where uncertainty is an everyday reality. According to a 2023 study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, over 60% of primary care providers report feeling uncertain about their patients’ diagnoses and treatment options at least once a week. The above statistic highlights a critical aspect of our profession: uncertainty is inherent in what we do. Rather than viewing uncertainty as a hindrance, we should embrace it as an opportunity for growth and improvement. ➡️ Here’s why: - Promoting Continuous Learning: The medical field is constantly evolving. Embracing uncertainty drives us to stay updated with the latest research and advancements. A 2022 survey found that 73% of healthcare professionals believe that engaging with new evidence leads to better patient outcomes. Each moment of uncertainty encourages us to dive deeper, enhancing our knowledge and skills. - Strengthening Patient Relationships: Openly acknowledging uncertainty fosters trust and transparency with our patients. A 2021 study revealed that patients who felt their doctors communicated openly about uncertainties reported higher satisfaction and adherence to treatment plans. When we share the unknowns, we engage patients in their own care, empowering them to be active participants in their health journey. - Encouraging Collaboration: No one can know everything. Embracing uncertainty invites collaboration within our healthcare teams. A 2023 report from the American Academy of Family Physicians emphasizes that multidisciplinary approaches improve care coordination and patient outcomes, especially in complex cases. We can lean on each other’s expertise, turning uncertainty into a collective strength. - Building Resilience: Accepting uncertainty cultivates resilience. The challenges we face can lead to burnout, but recognizing that unpredictability is part of our journey allows us to adapt and find solutions. A study in the American Journal of Medicine found that physicians who embrace uncertainty report greater job satisfaction and lower burnout rates. - - - As we navigate the complexities of primary care, let’s shift our perspective on uncertainty. It’s not a barrier but a vital component of our practice that fosters curiosity, enhances communication, and strengthens our patient relationships. By embracing uncertainty, we not only improve our professional growth but also enhance the care we provide to our patients. Together, let’s navigate the unknown with confidence and compassion. #PrimaryCare #Healthcare #Uncertainty #PatientCare #Collaboration #ContinuousLearning #Resilience
