As a construction person, I have always preferred the early mornings; my mind is fresh and the air feels cleaner. Since becoming a mother, I have come to struggle with very early mornings. However, in order to keep the work life balance with my son, the majority of my mornings are now very early. So I keep going, and one of the rewards I get on occasion (which feels like it's showing up just for me) is the night sky. This morning, as I came out of my door to -6 Celsius, ice, the cold and the dark, Mars (left of the photo) was there to greet me, along with the stars surrounding her. Always remember to look up...❤️ In the cold and quiet before the day, When stars still linger, far away, The world is hushed, the sky is deep, A treasure waiting while others sleep. The frost may bite, the dark may loom, But above, the heavens quietly bloom. A crescent moon, a shimmering star, Reminds you how small we are. So if the morning feels heavy and gray, Pause for a moment on your way. Lift your gaze, let wonder spark— There's beauty to find in the cold and dark.

Finding work life balance. Or burning candles on both ends? Easier said than done don’t you agree? It’s all about priorities. It’s between what’s important and some may say impossible. How am I going to support my family if I don’t put work first? What about my children’s school ? And the list can go on. And on. Consider this. What you think you want may not be what you need. Deep down we know the world is a stage. Its offers have no end. The lure of prestige position power and possessions adds pressure and stress to our busy life. So there’s this tug of war. Knowing what’s important and yet wanting more. We are sucked into the facade of keeping up even when we are drowning. Life is about more than just work. While work can be an important aspect of our lives, providing us with purpose, fulfillment, and a means to support ourselves, it is just one component of a fulfilling and balanced life. Other aspects such as relationships, personal growth, health, hobbies, and leisure time are also vital for overall well-being. Striking a balance between work and other areas of life is key to living a fulfilling and meaningful life. Finding harmony between work and personal life can lead to greater happiness, satisfaction, and overall well-being. Is it any wonder our authorities are putting so much emphasis on mental well being. Burning the candle at both ends” is an idiom that means to do more than one thing should be done, or to overextend oneself. It can also mean to exhaust one's resources or energies by leading a hectic life. For example, “Joseph's been burning the candle at both ends for weeks, working two jobs to live a lifestyle beyond his means.” So what’s your life like?

The way we chased down the ice cream truck...let's just say... I got my excercise for the day. Hahahaha WORK LIFE BALANCE is what we call it!! WORK: I chased down the ice cream truck for my kids, and now I'm chasing after a job with the same determination and perseverance! WORK: After successfully pinpointing the ice cream truck by sound, we sprinted over to get our treats. Now, it's time to identify the jobs I want and land one! LIFE: Creating unforgettable summer memories with my children because these moments won't last forever. LIFE: Enjoying ice cream on a scorching summer day and laughing about our crazy sprinting adventure. Remember, finding a balance between work and life is important; you can't always work because life will pass you by, and you can't always relax because we all need to earn a living to survive. Cherish your loved ones and make time for the things that matter most. #jobseeker #jobhunt #worklifebalance

I created a line between my personal and professional life, Here's why?? ✨️In a world that’s more connected than ever, it’s easy to let the lines between work and personal life blur. But here’s the thing—protecting that boundary is crucial. Why? Because we all need space to recharge, to be with loved ones, and to simply breathe. When we allow work to spill into our personal lives, we risk burnout, strained relationships, and losing sight of what truly matters. It’s okay to close the laptop at 5 PM. It’s okay to not check emails over dinner. And yes, it’s okay to say no to that late-night meeting. Let’s normalize setting boundaries. Let’s protect our time, energy, and well-being. At the end of the day, our personal lives deserve just as much attention as our careers. And when we take care of ourselves, we’re better at taking care of our work too. How do you keep your work and personal life in balance? Share your tips!

“You can't do a good job if your job is all you do.” – Katie Thurms This week we are talking about rest, work-life balance, and taking an “adult spring break”. Do you remember that one week off planned time off we received as kids? It was wonderful. A time to recharge, spend time with friends and family, or even travel if we are fortunate enough to go somewhere. At some point when we became “adults” and began working, we made work our life. Generational values aside, we all need an intentional break from work. The internal nagging that makes you feel like you’re not as “productive” or will not be seen as “dedicated” unless you give endless hours and sleepless nights to your job needs to be thrown out. Hear me, YOUR WORK IS NOT YOUR IDENTITY. *It’s not your only identity. Over the next few posts, we’ll talk about (and receive tips on) saying no (my favorite word), disconnecting, and creating a balance between work and life. At EddieSpeaksLove, LLC, we work with our clients to identify and own opportunities to take intentional breaks without feeling guilty to recharge and bring their best selves to their work and what is important to them. What are some things that you do to create balance in your day, workweek, or life? What have you found to be challenging? Ready to identify your time stealers and become a master of your schedule? EddieSpeaksLove offers workshops and coaching programs to help you reclaim your time and achieve work-life harmony. Book a FREE consultation today! #worklifebalance #timemanagement #eddiespeakslove

Did you know that a simple change in routine could transform your life and how you connect with your family? Here's a little story about finding magic in a strict schedule. Every day after school, it's a whirlwind of sports and activities for my kids. To keep up, we stick to a tight schedule. Bedtime at 9 PM, then I wake up at 4:30 AM to work out before they are all up. Sounds tough, right? But here's the secret. This routine helped me stay sharp, focused, and, most importantly, present with my kids. No room for a foggy mind, whether from a glass of wine or a night out with friends. Those options just didn't fit into our lives anymore. And guess what? This strict schedule was not a restriction but a liberation despite what people might think about it. Have you ever thought about how small changes can lead to big impacts in your life? What's your take on balancing life, work, and family time? Have you tried tweaking your routine for a better life balance?

Work life balance is a lie that we’ve all been sold and told is achievable. The demands of work and life are in constant flux, often leaving you feeling exhausted. 🔥 Some weeks the work flame burns hotter, especially when you have tons of projects due. 🔥 Other weeks the personal life flame is roaring, like when you’re sick or your family needs you. 🔥 Most days, the match is burning on both ends, because work and life don’t stop. When we try to achieve the idea of a perfect balance, it leaves us feeling like we’re not doing enough. Work life harmony is about accepting the shifting demands, and releasing the expectation that you’ll achieve equilibrium. The key is to anticipate the stress and plan ways to take care of yourself. When I’m in a season of work and life both being intense, I make sure to: → Ask for help from my supports. → Go for a long walk every evening. → Take the weekends/evenings fully off. → Plan a daily meal that I’m looking forward to. → Spend time with my husband watching shows. These small acts help to replenish my energy stores, allowing me to sustain long term. Do you agree? How do you manage work/life stress? ♻️ Repost this post if it was helpful and follow Nidhi Tewari, LCSW for more. Image: Liz Fosslien

How you, as a working mom, can go from overwhelmed, rushed and feeling pulled in a million directions.... to feeling in control of the balance between personal, work and family life. ⤵ Sometimes it can feel like your life is totally out of balance. You wake up, feed kids, drive them to school, immediately rush into a work meeting, try to focus on work but your brain is distracted by the list of things waiting for you at home, then you leave work at the last possible second to reach your kids' school before it closes, head home to dinner, chaos and bedtime. Here is the BEST and FASTEST way I've found to feel balanced in life: 🌟 View your time in 168 hours instead of 24 hours. 🌟 It's more realistic and much easier to balance life between 7 days instead of trying to make every single day equally balanced.
