Incredible panel lineup at Scotland Women in Technology event, who each brought a unique perspective, from groundbreaking strides in technology to their inspriring leadership journey of Ceri Shaw Angela Prentner-Smith (FRSA) Linda Scott Naomi Pryde and Mark Logan. Great advice, some things are just ‘mistakes’ but we label them as ‘failures’ … we need to change the language we use. The insight shared by the panelists underscores the importance of reevaluating the narratives we tell ourselves. It's crucial we recognise 'mistakes' as opportunities for growth rather than defining them as 'failures'. This mindset shift is essential for pushing the boundaries in tech and leadership. “Always an end to failing and always a solution to go forward.” #WomenInTech #Leadership #GrowthMindset

This might be one of my favourite pieces of content PartnerStack has published. It brings together immense knowledge, varied experiences working in industries dominated by men, and insights on how to navigate rising to leadership roles as a woman. It’s insane to me how prevalent imposter syndrome is and the way those limiting beliefs can hold us back in our careers. Some of my favourite parts: To do leadership work, she explains, it’s important to have broad experience, a wide operating range and alignment across teams. “Take a step back, gain experience where you can see the big picture and understand how that might fit into your GTM strategy,” - Amy Scanlon Imagine you’d been told every day of your life that you are wonderful and capable and enough. Then act from that. - Jessie Shipman On partnerships: Even if you can’t kick off with a sponsorship worth thousands of dollars, she says there are still creative ways to show partners you’re invested: buying them a subscription for a tool they need, giving them ready-to-use content or inviting them to events. - Roxana Motoc “When you’re younger, you just don’t know what you don’t know,” Tsai says. “I had more imposter syndrome in my 30s than in my 20s — and that’s when I had to ask for help. A lot of early career advice is about how to find a mentor. But it’s not really about mentorship. It’s about proactively establishing relationships so you have champions: people who are thinking about you to do this work when you’re not in the room. - Annie Tsai Don’t be afraid to bring up problems. If you bring them to leadership, you’ll probably end up running point on that project. It’s always helpful to bring up issues when there’s a gap. The worst that can happen is they’ll say no.” - W. “What I see among women in partnerships is the tendency to kind of be the glue,” Winfield explains. “Speak your mind. Don’t hold back! Your job is not to make it comfortable for everybody. You should care how people feel and how they’re processing, but you can’t make it comfortable for everybody. Sometimes that discomfort will accelerate things faster than if you had made it okay for everyone.” - Mary W. Thank you Chloe T. for putting together this amazing piece with incredible women! 💕
Leading with empathy doesn’t mean sacrificing results ⚡ That’s what we learned from speaking to six inspirational GTM leaders for PartnerStack’s second feature marking International Women’s Day 2024. Their insights showed us how you can succeed in partnerships — and business — without losing sight of the human at the other end of the email thread. And their experience credits women leaders who came before them with making empathy part of the equation. Thank you to the incredible Roxana Motoc, Amy Scanlon, Jessie Shipman, Annie Tsai, Wendy W. and Mary W. for making more room at the table — and, when needed, building a whole new table. We’re lucky to work alongside you in the partnerships space. Read on for their advice and join us in amplifying their voices. Because more collaboration, empathetic leadership and relationship building make things better for all of us in partnerships. Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Envision Lead Grow Today marked a pivotal moment as Envision Lead Grow (ELG) board members, mentors, and our inspiring Girl Bosses gathered at the Virginia Beach City Council meeting. The significance of this event goes beyond the walls of City Hall – it symbolizes a commitment to civic engagement, empowerment, and the creation of spaces for future leaders. In the words of Maya Angelou, a beacon of wisdom and resilience, “Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.” Envision Lead Grow not only nurtures the entrepreneurial spirit of our Girl Bosses but also recognizes the importance of active participation in shaping the community. Our board members and mentors serve as guides, exemplifying the impact one can have by participating in civic affairs. Let us continue to pave the way for the leaders of tomorrow, fostering a sense of responsibility and passion for positive change. Together, we can create a legacy that echoes the sentiment of Maya Angelou’s words – standing up for ourselves and, in turn, standing up for all. #EnvisionLeadGrow #GirlBosses #CivicEngagement #Leadership #MayaAngelouQuotes

This #internationalwomensday, let’s celebrate the #unstoppable women whose leadership, ideas and innovation fuel our success. At UPS, women's leadership is seen not only as a necessity, but as a driving force that spurs business growth and innovation. The theme of this year's IWD, #accelerateprogress, reflects our commitment - we firmly believe that promoting women's leadership paves the quickest path to achieving progress. While we have seen exceptional women leaders thrive in the traditionally male-dominated logistics industry, we still have a long way to go. The evidence is clear: organizations enriched by women’s leadership not only innovate more, but also outperform in the competitive global market. This IWD, I choose to reaffirm my commitment to be intentional in supporting women leaders and fostering a work environment that supports their professional growth and development. Happy International Women’s Day to my colleagues around the world! Here’s to accelerating progress together! #IWD2024
