Robinson+Cole’s Frederick Hedberg and Will Stoll co-authored an article entitled “Connecticut’s New False Claims Act Increases Risk to Public Construction Participants,” published in CONNstruction magazine, the quarterly publication of the Connecticut Construction Industries Association. The article covers the Connecticut False Claims Act and the expanded potential liability associated with a bill Governor Ned Lamont signed in 2023. “The revisions dramatically expanded potential liability under the False Claims Act, allowing both private citizens and the Attorney General to bring actions under the Act in any context, including the construction industry,” they write. “Contractors and design professionals need to be extra vigilant in ensuring not only that they, but all parties for whom they are responsible, fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing claims for payment on all phases of a construction project involving state funding in Connecticut.” https://lnkd.in/d-D5am4H #CONNstructionmagazine #falseclaimsact #liability #constructionlaw
