City of Greater Geelong What about the Rolerama Drain in Corio? Its overgrown with vegetation which in turn harbours all kinds of rubbish which clearly slows down the flow of stormwater runoff from Corio and Norlane resulting in flooding of Station Street bridge, Lowe Street bridge and finally St George’s Road bridge. All three bridges have had their structural integrity compromised due to severe flooding. These bridges have all seen a huge increase in heavy transport traffic since the Spirit of Tasmania has been docking at Corio Quay and the roads are showing severe degradation because of this now, especially with the implementation of double road-trains in Victoria, and all the COGG can do is put in place “Rough Surface” signs on the side of the road. Rolerama Drain needs to be cleared and turned into a proper concrete stormwater runoff channel all the way to where it comes out at North Shore with a foreign matter catchment area to prevent runoff waste from entering Corio Bay.
