Howard University's Swimming and Diving Team—the only all-Black swim team in the nation and last year's Men's Northeast Conference champions—are modeling excellence in a sport that, for generations, excluded Black Americans.    Did you know that Black swimmers comprise only 2% of collegiate level swimmers and only 1.5% of the nearly 300,000 members of USA swimming?    A historic and severe lack of access to swimming facilities and swim lessons—based on racial, geographic, and socioeconomic barriers—has led to this pervading gap.
