For more than three years, Tamarack’s Community Climate Transitions (CCT) network has been supporting community-led climate action that builds more just and equitable futures. Through our work with municipalities, community organizations, resident-led groups, and others forming cross-sector coalitions, we have learned a lot about what it takes to address the climate crisis in a collaborative way that ensures no one is left behind. We’re excited to launch 10: A Guide for Advancing Climate Equity Through Place-Based Collaboration, which brings together two principles of CCT’s work with 70+ members since 2021: climate action is incomplete without addressing the inequities of the climate crisis in our communities, and place-based partnerships are a natural fit for advancing climate equity. The urgency to address climate crisis, carbon emissions, and sustainable environmental practices has never been greater. It's a wake-up call for us to invest in climate resilience, realize a robust transition to a global green economy and consolidate strategies for financing it; while enhancing community preparedness. Shaping climate action on a local scale! 🏔️ Boulder County partners with Carbon Direct to develop impactful carbon removal strategies. Christian Herrmann, Climate Communications Specialist, shares: "Carbon Direct's science-based approach helps us select projects with the greatest lasting impact on our community." After the Marshall Fire highlighted the urgent need for local climate solutions, Boulder County took the lead. Through their Climate Innovation Fund, they set an example for local governments, emphasizing the integration of carbon removal projects into sustainability plans. BSR’s Climate Change team share ten principles to guide business in co-creating climate justice interventions with affected communities.   Business actions aligned with these principles can better forge relationships with affected communities, build trust, and make collective progress toward climate justice. By incorporating a co-creation process, business leaders can center communities most affected by climate change in ongoing discussions as they experience the injustice firsthand and can identify solutions that best fit their needs. How does different parts of the city respond and adapt to climate change? The Community Climate Action Project is a , citywide programme funded by the National Lottery’s Climate Action Fund and delivered by Bristol Climate & Nature Partnership. It enables communities to play a role in achieving the city’s climate and nature ambitions, whilst also improving people’s quality of life. Learn about the bottom up approaches taken in St Annes, Southmead, Knowle West, Windmill Hill, Hillfields at an event at Sparks Bristol on the 25th April. The @Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability is putting the "action" into climate action plan - and they're kicking it into high gear. When we helped the County develop the #AllInClarkCounty Community Sustainability and Climate Action Plan that passed in 2023, we identified three key actions that would transform sustainability and resilience in Southern Nevada in coming years. Now, the County is working to implement those three steps, and bringing their community into the process.
