Department of Public Works’ Post

The City of Tavares has proclaimed May 19 through May 25, 2024, as "National Public Works Week". As part of the week's recognition, I want to give special recognition to all our dedicated Public Works personnel. They make our community a dynamic place to live, work, and play. Please join us in celebrating the quiet work these professionals do that makes life better for all of us! It's interesting to note that National Public Works Week has been sponsored by the American Public Works Association since 1960. This week serves as a platform for Public Works Departments across North America to energize and educate the public about the importance of public works in our daily lives. It's about planning, building, managing, and operating infrastructure that is central to our local communities and improves our quality of life. This year's theme is "Advancing Quality of Life for All," which highlights the role of Public Works in maintaining and improving infrastructure and services that are crucial for providing a high quality of life for residents of the City of Tavares.
