The Parks and Recreation Collection (PaRC) has become the most extensive collection of parks and recreation government, academic and practitioner documents in Australia. The committee responsible for the Collection work in the background to maintain and enhance the collection. The next cache of documents have been added and are included in a new Narrative that is health and well-being focused. If you haven't checked out the Collection yet we highly recommend that you do so. Remember that the Collection covers academic papers, a diverse range of government strategies, and a full suite of local government strategies and plans, including the most up to date open space and recreation, and activity specific planning documents. If you are looking for the latest thinking, or want to "pinch" a template for your latest work, then visit the Collection. PaRC also invites all consultants working in the field to consider uploading their work to the Collection, to expand the industry knowledge base, and to promote their work to their clients. As a former Parks and Recreation professional I can say the episodes I did watch did have some similarities. There are many days I miss the profession, being surrounded by so many peers who are very passionate about their careers. Parks and Recreation professionals provide programs and services for people when they are not working. Thus, typically involves many nights and weekends. Parks and Recreation professionals also where many hats. Marketing, Budgeting, Leadership, and Creative Programming. If you were in facilities you also developed a skill set in understanding Safety, OSHA, Project Management, Janitorial, HVAC, Electrical and unfortunately Plumbing.
