This funding, and the work it enables, is built on two of the core pillars of the Community Foundation's strategic work: to build community resilience, and to advance social and economic mobility for all of Northern Virginia's residents. Using CLD approaches ensures local people have the skills and confidence to shape and lead their own sustainable projects. We all want to support our local economy, but sometimes we don't want to spend the extra money! But, there is good news: there are ways you can support your local economy WITHOUT spending money. Here are 3 ideas: 🧡 Show your support online: Follow local businesses on social media, share them with your followers, and leave a Google review. 🧡 Attend a (free) community event: Boosting overall attendance numbers for local events is a great way to help them secure sponsorships and funding in the future. 🧡 Bank with a credit union: Keeping your money with financial co-operatives ensures that your money will be housed at an organization that prioritizes community development.
