On Tuesday, June 11th, the McDonald's at 1481 Opdyke hosted “Coffee with a Cop,” bringing together the Auburn Hills Police Department and the community for a morning of conversation, connection, and caffeine. McDonald's generously donated $500 to the police department. Big thanks to McDonald's for hosting and supporting local law enforcement! https://lnkd.in/gAZKe5Ha #CoffeeWithACop #McDonalds

Please donate, sharing on behalf of my colleague: Hi, my name is Alyson and I am raising funds to create an animated video to educate children and young people on how to be active allies when they witness racism. We are encouraging children to be allies in schools, communities and to use their voices to speak out against racism. School-age children may experience fear or worry about what they have seen on the news, or they may be angry when hearing of mean acts happening to others. The animated video aims to them feel safe and let them know that one person’s actions are not true of all people. For example, one person in a position of power behaving badly does not mean all people in positions of power behave badly. The video will open up discussion, help children and young people to be active allies and to learn about the lived experience of racism and its impact on learning, health and outcomes. Let us work together to change the status quo, racism has no place in our schools and communities. https://gofund.me/2391a3a4

If you’re a leader of a nonprofit it’s likely that you are feeling overwhelmed. So when we come to you with a request to make sure the voices of your clients and communities are heard loud and clear in November, we are well aware of how much is already on your plates. But we also believe that our democracy and much of the work you do is at stake this year. In this blog post, we’ve laid out some simple steps you can take as a nonprofit to promote voting. We even give a hat tip to Taylor Swift. Take a look and let us know if we can help. #nonprofits. #democracy #votingrights https://lnkd.in/gk-Vv7vf
