My 5 tips for #GoogleAds professionals to stay relevant in the age of A.I. (relax it will be okay) 1) Expand your role. Think of yourself as a business strategist who specializes in Google Ads instead of just someone who runs ads. Know how the other pieces of digital marketing fit together with paid media. 2) Don’t be average. Google can already run campaigns and create ads. It’s not very good at it and I don’t think it ever will be (due to alignment issues, not the technology). If you expect to get paid for your services, you have to be better than what Google offers for free. 3) Communicate value. Most of the value we create is done behind closed doors. If you don’t communicate this to clients, they won’t know. Show them how you are better than “out of the box” A.I. (sorry Gemini). 4) Stay current. Google Ads is changing and changing fast. This will probably only accelerate going forward. Don’t under-perform because you’re running Google Ads like it’s 2023. 5) Use A.I. Even though this post seems anti-A.I. I’m actually very bullish on it. But it’s the human / machine partnership that will produce the best outcomes. Think of how spreadsheets made us all way more productive. As I began learning Google Ads and started my first job in digital marketing, I noticed something missing in discussions: the importance of spending more at the start of a search campaign. This idea wasn't talked about much. But I realized that investing more early on can make a big difference in how well your campaign performs in the long run. At least, that is what I experienced. It appeared that investing heavily upfront was always met with controversy, regardless of the circumstances. And yes, it's true that wasting resources isn't smart. Plus, clients find it tough to shell out more for ads, especially if they're not seeing good returns. However, I ultimately found, as I progressed, that good quality and quantity of data are very valuable factors to consider when running campaigns, and that can cost you, especially in the beginning when you don’t have much data to work with. The main point is that the better the data, the more efficiently you can manage your budget and get high-quality leads at the same time, which ultimately means a better ROI. #Digital #marketing #googleads
