Here’s a thought: To boost economic growth, it's crucial to make the UK a stellar place to work. This means a solid workforce strategy based on skilled, healthy, and fair work principles. That's what the CIPD is advocating for. So, what's in their Manifesto for Good Work? Let me break it down for you: The CIPD urges the UK Government to enact systemic changes in recruitment, development, and retention strategies by employers. Why? To foster a more productive, sustainable economy and to promote inclusive growth that lifts everyone’s living standards. Key focus areas? Skills, innovation, business support, digital adoption, green transition, immigration, and labour market regulation. Now, what exactly does the manifesto emphasize? Managing human can sometimes be easy, difficult, or overwhelming. Having to wear the HR hat requires both soft skill and hard skill. Reflecting on when I transitioned into HR, I was overly excited. I wanted to hit the ground smoothly, so I started on self development - taking HR courses, mingling with the seniors in the HR, joined different social groups and enrolled for certification. The question in my mind is, how far do I intend to grow in the HR journey? Hmmm, this question had pushed me through the following roles; #HROperations, #engagementmanager, #performancemanager, #HRConsultant #HRProjectmanager, #HRBusinessPartner, #HRM Recently, #HRAnalytics, #PerformanceAnalytics and #BusinessAnalytics seems like the next step.
