Staff wellbeing is an increasingly relevant and necessary consideration in the modern workplace. 📢 Wellbeing at its simplest level is about personal happiness in the workplace – feeling good and living safely and healthily. In this respect wellbeing is a hugely significant aspect of people’s work and careers. 💡 It is also important to remember that companies have certain legal responsibilities to their workers and the following legislation must be complied with: • Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 • Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 • Employment Rights Act 1996 • Protection from Harassment Act 1997 • Working Time Regulations 1998 • Equality Act 2010 Companies should develop wellbeing policies that fit their particular work environment. Since the pandemic, employee wellbeing has dipped from 73% in 2020 to 66% in 2023, according to employee engagement expert Inpulse. This decline is especially impacting younger generations, with over a third under 35 reporting low wellbeing. 😴 The data highlights the critical role leaders play. Employees who feel part of a supportive work community are almost three times more engaged! By actively listening, offering meaningful support, and providing resources like GP helplines and mental health programs, you can cultivate a thriving work environment where employee wellbeing flourishes.
