Last week I once again had the privilege to judge a student pitch competition at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Thank you to Barbara Finer for the invitation. It was so much fun! Great to collaborate with fellow judges Zachary Dutton with the Venture Forum and Sanuska Poudel from WPI. By the way the students were all underclassmen, but they were very well prepared with market research, capital requirements, and business plans. Very impressed by their efforts. In this case, working on financial projection and clientele wants and needs using simulators, interviews, and common knowledge. We have also started discussing a community event that will bring us together, giving us an opportunity to show what exactly each of us is working on. Personally, I am excited about this! This event will create great opportunities for not only myself but also for my classmates as we extend our findings and knowledge to other entrepreneurs as well as other students. Although we are still working out the bumps, we have decided to hold it on the 1st of December at 5 pm. Due to how close this event is, it’s nerve-racking, but also exciting as I am one of the planners. However, because of the close timing, I feel that a lot of worry is going around as to how this will look and how my classmates and I will pull this off in time. Even with the worry, I believe that we can work together as adults to create this amazing space! Because at the end of the day, this event is about us, and our growth through this quarter!
