This month I had the privilege of contributing to Cosmetic Business magazine and also evening standards for their pieces on ectoine, combining the moisturizing effects of hyaluronic acid with skin barrier boosting properties similar to niacinamide, the hashtag of Egg Torrent. It received over 42.6 million views on TikTok. Online beauty retailers like look fantastic. They've reported a near 600% increase in users. Actually searching for the ingredients, so there is a lot to unpack. So let's start with the benefits and why ectoine has gained this much attention. Now consumers are educated and they are looking for multi functional benefits to the skin. Scientific studies have also provided a more in depth understanding of the mechanism of action for ectoine. Also its efficacy which is also leading to his increased recognition from skin care brands. So what it does ectoine enhances the skins natural moisture retention also supports a healthy skin. Microbial, which is one of the key tones that we see more and more in industry as well. It has anti-inflammatory properties making it beneficial for soothing, irritated or sensitized again, again a skin condition that we are seeing more and more appearing as well. Let's talk about the application media of egg time. So it is water phase, which means that it would work best with any product that has water in it. This is serums, moisturizers, toners, essences anywhere between, oh point 3% to 2%. So what's? Ingredients Are we seeing Ectoin paired with in a skin care formula For its soothing benefits, we are seeing it paired with niacinamide, panthenol, mushroom extract and hyaluronic acid. In antioxidant serums, we are seeing it paired with hexylresorcinol, vitamin C, Ferulic acid and vitamin E for its firming benefits is added in formulas with licorice root extracts, all gig strikes, polyglutamic acid, and copper peptides.
