Our ChristianaCare Cancer Outreach team had a great time at Reggae in the Park! Attendees had the opportunity to learn about our cancer programs and have questions answered by our caregivers. Our team was excited to connect with community members and celebrate Caribbean heritage! #LoveOfHealth #cancercare #newcastlecounty #delaware

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the resilience of children and families affected by cancer. As insurance professionals, receiving updates from our clients about a cancer diagnosis is always difficult. It’s a reminder that cancer knows no age and that the support we offer goes beyond just insurance—it’s about being there in times of need. We encourage you to learn more about and support organizations like the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO) and the South Carolina Cancer Alliance, who are leading the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we can make a difference. #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #Support #HealthMarkets #FamilyFirst #CancerAwareness

This video is a must watch! Be more like Danielle Tropsa's leader!!! Cancer is one of the hardest things a person can go through, therefore having a supportive leader is so important: not only when you are going through cancer treatment, but afterwards in recovery. Having a leader who offers support during and after cancer treatment can make a world of difference in the recovery process too. Make sure your employees are "feeling so floored" for the right reasons and join the Pledge by clicking on this link - https://lnkd.in/eKiFfC2d #CancerSupport #WorkingWithCancer #WorkplaceSupport Working With Cancer Publicis Groupe Working with Cancer Initiative
Stories like Danielle Tropsa's show the role an employer can play in providing a supportive, recovery-forward space when someone is diagnosed with cancer. We’re so grateful to Dani for sharing her story. Help us end the stigma of cancer at work for patients and caregivers with the Working with Cancer Pledge. Cancer prevention and genetic testing go hand in hand. I'm honored to be on the Executive Advisory Board of ConnectMyVariant.org, and appreciate Mark A Hicks using his considerable artistic talent and passion for hereditary cancer prevention to help ConnectMyVariant, My Faulty Gene, and other nonprofit organizations to spread our messages. If you have a personal or family history of cancer, please consider scheduling a visit with a #geneticcounselor to discuss #genetictesting. #hereditarycancer #familyhealthhistory #knowyourrisk #FamilyGeneShare

National Cancer Prevention Month begins tomorrow. But preventing cancer isn’t just a one-month effort. One of the goals of Connect My Variant, a nonprofit organization, is to campaign for increased awareness of the benefits of family outreach among physicians and others who can provide cancer prevention care, as well as the broader genealogy community. Updated databases and fact sheets on various dimensions of cancer epidemiology are needed to know the present status of this non-communicable disease divided into at least 10 categories, which has become a major public health threat and "health economic cross" across the globe. The latest "Globoscan 2020" and Cancer Incidence and Mortality Data Sri Lanka 2021 are available for data mining for studies based on Sri Lankan cancer patients.
It’s World Cancer Day, and we’re taking the time to recount the wish we granted Reese with the help of Make-A-Wish. 💫 Thanks to our partnership and dedicated team, we surprised Reese and her family with a trip to Florida Theme Parks! We’re honored to continue playing a role in these unforgettable projects. Our wonderful and thoughtful team is always all in when these opportunities arrive. It's moments like these where we’re reminded that bringing comfort to families can have a completely different meaning—and sometimes, it requires the work of a village to get the job done. 🫶 #worldcancerday #cancer #makeawish #serviceexperts

RARE DISEASES INTERNATIONAL supports #WorldCancerDay taking the opportunity to remind that 1 in 5 cancers is rare. Rare cancers account for about 25–30% of all cancer diagnoses and 25% of cancer deaths. Despite the high collective occurrence of rare cancers, basic biological and clinical knowledge about them is lacking. For many patients with a rare cancer, the lack of effective clinical management before and after diagnosis translates into a suboptimal clinical outcome; on average, patients with rare cancers have worse outcomes, with estimated average 5-year relative survival rates of 47% for patients with rare cancers versus 65% for those with common cancers (Gatta et al., 2011).
